My favorite book in my legends screen is: Start Your Day With The Dwarf.  Written by a dwarf necromancer.  Extra fun, because I more or less did this morning :)

I...eh....did some haaax and got a single automaton into my fort. Vampire came in. Bit him. I got a vampire automaton, immune to piercing and slashing weaponry running around my fort nao....any suggestions?

I can't cave him in, he bit all my freaking miners. Aaaand they had the picks on 'em.
No magma, haven't gotten there yet.

Find the remote, and press "off"?

Curse you for making me go there.   Be grateful I'm not going to share the terrible innuendos.

Happy Birthday Toady.

Something not to be forgotten, DF also is also much happier if you have liquid cooling on your CPU - especially if you have masterwork or artifact components - and you'll need a big beard to go on the front.

Only if you're overclockin'. But anyone who's going to spend the cash for liquid cooling is going to be overclocking.

Still, Even just replacing the stock cooling fan will let you clock it up atleast 100 MHZ safely.

I was trying to allude to Fortress happiness-guaranteeing waterfalls actually, what with the beard on the computer and liquid cooling, not making a case for overclocking, which I have zero experience with.

Did Toady include any of the downsides of improper animal husbandry?

I think that's where all those half-animal men come from.

...I can't believe i just said that. :)

Hehehehe demon rat tastes like satan!

Hmm bring your own potatoes (BYOPotatos) to the magma mess hall and fry them in your own grease (BYOGrease) and then chase it down with a tall mug of beer (BYOBeer)!  It's the dwarven way.

Perhaps one day, dwarves will discover integrated circuits, made by using the quantum-stackable nature of dwarf space to build all of the nescessary mechanisms into a single block dump zone - with leads to the adjacent 10 blocks for I/O!

But very spiffy stuff, I hope you manage to get it completed!  Good luck!
