As did I.

Just cuz I wrote in Sanders for second circuit doesn't mean I didn't vote clinton. I just didn't want to vote for the incumbent and it was a non competitive race.

Just finished my write in vote for Bernie Sanders

Good work by CTR.  :)

Holy dysfunctionality, batman! I thought I was just kidding when I said the government would become emptied of judges due to Republican obstructionism.

Democrats typically suffer in midterm years.  It's hard to tell liberal voters in swing states they want to go vote for a conservative democrat senator or governor at the top of the ticket.  You can only get them to vote for these guys if the presidential election gets them to the polls and they just vote straight down the ticket.

But if the republicans block all federal judicial nominations conservative democrats have their perfect issue to run on.  Talk all judges all the time.  Abortion?  Well I think we need to put a judge like Garland on the Supreme Court to decide that.  By the way, Garland was an Obama nominee.  (Yes, Garland will still be a nominee in this scenario).  Illegal immigration?  Well I bet Garland could solve that issue.  Black lives matter?  I'm sure they will once Garland is on the bench!

1) Raise taxes on the rich
2) Nominate Garland. (and after that nominate Obama for the next vacancy)

It's a message that gives meat to the base but plays great with swing voters in states like Missouri.  Hopefully it could keep the democratic midterm losses down to just a couple seats.  And given that gerrymandering loses effectiveness with each year since the redistricting democrats might even hope to pick up a few seats in the house.

I heard on keeping it 1600 (which is v. good) that 40% of the democratic electorate in iowa caucuses self identify as socialist.  Seems that does check out according to a Seltzer poll done back in January.

That is a strange index.

If so, how?

By spending half the money that the US wastes on healthcare inefficiencies on the military so they can afford the latest military equipment.

The biggest problem is that you're locked out of the "Party Financing" perk at State-level and above. No matter how solid your build and play skill is, you can't tank a $50,000,000 hit from someone playing one of the standard two-party builds.

Doesn't help though, that most third-party builds are just for trolling or people who were too edgy and/or obnoxious and got kicked out of the major guilds.

Dude, xxXXxxMcMuffinxxXXxx was literally AFK for half the finals and he was still able to build an organization in Utah despite being naked and like 5 levels behind.  Trump didn't even go for a Party Financing build in the finals this year.  Dont blame IceFrog for the fact that Gary Johnson left his courier in Aleppo the entire game or Jill Stein's inventory consists of nothing but six homeopathic recipes.

Whoops, forgot which post was which there.  :P

I'm just saying that it happens a lot that saying good things about Clinton is labeled "extreme" while ridiculous lies about her are considered perfectly normal.  But someone is considered reasonable if they repeat ridiculous lies about Clinton so long as they also believe in a downright cartoonish version of Trump.

And another person believing Hilary is an angel and there is no evidence she ever did anything wrong.

And I'm talking about how people generally exaggerate the positions of anyone who defends those that are shit upon.  For instance your mother is defending Clinton and you are describing her position as a ridiculous extreme.  However you aren't being specific about the position.  Because then it would be a specific statement that you could be judged by.

Was she extreme?  Then name some of these extreme positions.

13
Were you though?  Cuz this sort of thing happens a lot when people are being shitty towards others.  The ones who aren't sympathetic to either side dont connect the dots.  "Gee, why are the blacks/gays/immigrants/trans/women just assuming that they know what this is about?"  It's because it's an old fucking story.

14
It's a very common argument.

One person believes, without evidence, that a politician is a criminal.
The other person believes, with decades of evidence, that a politician is a typical liberal.

Naturally the right thing to do is say that both sides are extremists.

Oh well companies being greedy bastards with patents isn't exclusive to healthcare but there has been a lot of it in healthcare recently.  Intellectual property naturally tends towards price gouging.

In tangentally related anecdotes, one time I put my department head on the spot in the middle of a lecture and got him to decide that according to his model of consumer utility it would in fact make sense to tax insulin in order to pay for tax cuts elsewhere.  :P
