You can't outrun the future, for it is already here.

If the future is here, why aren't my appliances talking back to me or making horrible pre-recorded puns?

Did you add them to the entity? the reactions that is?

Speaking of Reactions, I have a particuallry frustrating problem.  I have my nice custom workshop.  And I have my list of reactions, all tied to the custom workshop.  I have the workshop and all of the reactions listen in the entity. The reactions are set to go to the specific workshop. I can build the workshop just fine.  My reactions do not show up at all, the list in the workshop is empty and they don't even show up in the job manager like I have seen when I searched the forums (and that is the closest issue to what I have).  I have double, triple, quadruple, quintuple checked all of my raws to look and see if I am misspelling something, this isn't the case.  They just do not appear.  What should I be looking for to get this fixed?

Granted there was a typo, but I did in fact say I did that

EDIT: Scratch this, I somehow had a blank reaction.txt for the past three days.  I don't how how but apperantly the file was never actually copied over into my folder, and I have to manually go into the file in my raws folder and copy-paste the text

Theres already an in-game superpower granted by alcohol.

It's called the dwarven work ethic

DF Modding / Re: Modding Farming: Fewer Plants per tile

Clustersize only works for herbalism (gathering plants from shrubs outside).

You can't affect what grows from crops, but you can make it take longer for the plants to grow.  Plenty of people who want to make farming harder or more realistic do so.

Well, is already a mod for this called Kobold Camp.

Secondly, the issue with picks is that they are so big that the kobolds have too much trouble using them.  You need to make a new digging implement such as a shovel, that is smaller than a pick.

It might also be worth it to note that kobolds die out in worldgen due to the fact they cannot get enough food, since they are carnivores.

No, I meant through modding. Hm..trying obsidian coins. LEt's see if stupid Cactuar are willing to take stone coins..

I know through modding.  I'm saying have you modded your entity file to accept obsidian coins as a form of currency?  Also trading coins doesn't work like that, it just uses material value instead of actual worth in coins (unless this has been changed recently).

What happens if you let the entity have a value for the obsidian coins?

Also, its probably set to an absolute minimum of worth if you haven't done that already.

You should be able to select a general material for the dorfs to use.  When they pick up the job, it looks at what material you told them to take, then they select the closest material of that type.  You should be able to choose between having the job simple canceled in the background or a message thrown at you, and if the designation should stay or go away.

Stone meant for construction projects is held up while its set for the building task.  This can be very bothersome at times.  This method would allow you to just say "I want it made of talc" or "I want it made up of gold blocks" without accidentally blocking your stockpiles with talc or having to cancel and re-designate if you want to move the gold blocks to another location.

The options would allow for A: Your making a construction out of the talc as you dig it up and don't want to be bothered with all of the "NOT ENOUGH TALC" alerts of having to re-designate, or B: Letting you know if you ran out of gold blocks, and opening up room so you can start placing gold bars instead.

Once Toady has made some progress he will probably release some kind of raws for it.  Until then we can only be patient.

I'll be happy to take it off your hands when you don't want it. For once, I'd like to make a game without having to design it first :P
Shoot, you could just ask me at that point.  I have way too many unused ideas.

Anyways, the first thing I do when any part of this is released, is Im going to go into two peoples houses and swap their belongings.

I think we should lean away from a points system. As it currently looks, the system would allow you to choose how difficult the game will be, not the game choosing for you.

Smaller the town, the less amount of cops and the lesser the skills of them.

The bigger the town, the slower the response time and the less effectiveness of patrols

During the time it took me to read the 31 pages of this thread, it has not reached the next page.

I am disappoint.  What happened to page 50?

Edit: Holy shit I just jumped it to the next page complaining about the lack of it.

I MUST BE A WIZARD
