Also, I've got a titan wandering by - a giant fire breathing parrot. It tried to infiltrate my fort, but I managed to close the drawbridge just in time. Apparently, that hurt his sensibilities, so now he is hanging 20+ z-levels above my fort entrance, even though the bridge is long since down, all doors are unforbidden, traps all polished etc. It even ignores my military staged directly below it. So how do I get the stupid bird down?

He just wanted to play with you guys!

Hm. If depot is fully submerged in magma, will traders still attempt to get in?
1. Put your depot in a box
2. Make the elves open the box

There's a certain tag, can't remember it off the top of my head, maybe [PLAYABLE] or [ADVENTURE_PLAYABLE], that you just have to plug into the creatures raw file.

He's probably not sparring due to a nervous injury.  Check his wounds page and make sure to scroll down if it lets you.

If this is the case, he can still reach Champion by gaining experience from attacking enemies.  You could send him out alone against a siege or something.

Yep, turns out he has a gray injury on his brain. Can't believe I haven't noticed that.

For some reason, one of my dwarves will not become a champion. He was in my first group of wrestlers, and while all of his fellow soldiers became champions, he stayed elite. Eventually, when I made a new squad, I made him the leader of it.
And now all of his former subordinates are champions, and he remains an elite wrestler.

Yes, [AQUATIC] will make them unable to breathe above water, try giving them [AMPHIBIOUS].
Also note, you won't be able to correctly play as that civ, thanks to current limitations in AI.

Well, off to make a sieging civ that automatically catches fire and dies when they enter the map. Oh joy, grass fires!  :D
That could quite possibly be the most dangerous siege possible for a fort in the plains.

I once lost a fort in this manner. Fire imps set one of my dorfs on fire, on a plains map. The ensuing grass fire wiped out my remaining 6, as I had only just started building on a flat map. Fun.

I don't know, anything related you can think of  ;D It's hard to tell what's going on from over here. For what it's worth your food stockpile could be full with whatever, we can't say. How do you handle your food production chain?
Nope, I have two food stockpiles and neither is full.
And I don't really handle them. I have a small warehouse just outside my workshop hall, below which is my main warehouse, which is rather large. Both have a food stockpile.

Apparently there's a limit to how much unbarrelled food you can have at one time, not sure if it's true or not, but whatever.
Also, make sure you didn't turn off the 'Dwarves Gather Food" option in the [ o ] menu.

That was the first thing I checked. This fortress is going really well, (except for the three dwarves I lost to some magma-related stupidity) and I don't want to lose it to a food shortage. I'm in a mountain, surrounded by freshwater (and carp! oooooh, scary), with magma. It's awesome.

If a creature has the [AQUATIC] tag, does that automatically make them unable to breath outside of water?
I want to make a civ that can survive both in and out of water, and just want to have some background knowledge before i get started.

This may be a bug, but I'm thinking it's just me being stupid somehow.

Y'see, I have my kitchen enclosed from the rest of the workshops by a door, so if something rots, I don't have miasma troubles. However, whenever something is cooked, it just laments in the kitchen until it inevitably rots. I just had a pile of 96 sewer brew roasts rot into nothingness.  >:(

The same thing happens at my farms as well. When something is ready to be harvested, it will just rot there, or, my farmer will harvest it then leave it on the farm to rot.
Any ideas why this is happening?

IIRC, you can edit an existing reaction that you don't use so that you can make metal mechanisms, and you won't have to gen a new world.

that's the raw as it currently appears, with the FIXED_TEMP taken out. I currently have a few custom body part combinations on there. Its based on the Demon raw, obviously.

So if I add the temperature and heatdam tags, etc, it should fix the issues?

EDIT: I also just noticed my LIKES_FIGHTING tag is broken. Woopsy!
EDIT 2: New problem, it seems that the Devils are not being created at world gen like other megabeasts. Am I missing a tag?
