Back to full speed again with d6, thanks guys, you're the best ;)

Mm, quite.

Would you mind checking the CPU use on that? As mentioned above, there's a timer bug in 40d3-5 that can cause that behaviour.

Ok, I've got 37% CPU usage. Does that explain it?

Haven't noticed much difference with the 40d upgrades (Didn't have any big enough forts to go below 100 fps), However with 40d5 I'm getting drops down to 70 fps just moments after embarking. On 40d2 I had a fortress with 70 dwarves still at 100 fps (unfortunately I don't have this fortress anymore >.<). This is my first time posting regarding this, so forgive me for not knowing what more to say @_@

DF Suggestions / Health-care
« on: October 07, 2008, 12:14:55 pm »
Resting, drinking plenty of water and eating are all good advice for healing, but I'd like to know what's planned for the future? I searched a bit, and found suggestions about hospitals, doctors and infirmiries, but I can't seem to find any specific details of how the system is going to work out (I'm not good at searching). As I understand it, wounds currently heal randomly every season, I'm guessing this is temporary?

I noticed Toady's post today about more detailed bodies, I'm thinking this can give rise to more specialised health-care professions like dentists or surgeons (in contrast to just health-care profession). Surgeons were usually barbers or butchers in the old days (if I remember correctly), I suppose butchers with health-care enabled should be able to help with surgical matters. Herbalists with health-care enabled could perhaps pick healing herbs or herbal antidotes(though there isn't any poison yet)(just realised no diseases either).

So that's my suggestion - healing shouldn't just be a function of time, some wounds should require proper health-care to heal, and if done skillfully, should heal faster.

Hi, don't know if I've posted before, just wanted to leave a small comment. The world's most popular pc game (well one of them at least) was half about managing people's bladders - the sims. Logically, if it's done tastefully, people won't have a (big) problem with it.
