You can build the cage and connect it to a lever which will release the goblin when pulled or you could also pit the goblin.

How do you determine if a map has fish that spawn in the ocean? I've found a few embark locations that are pretty good but fish don't seem to spawn in the ocean biomes, even after several seasons of waiting.

Next time you need to you can just make a 5x5 room and make one or two of the floor tiles out of raw adamantine-boom, royal rooms. You can keep the floors until you have your dwarfs trained enough to make masterworks or just leave it like that if you don't use the adamantine for other things.

Hello, I've recently tried my hand at modding and was hoping to get some help with my attempt at making magma sources more fun.
I made some fire hippos but for some reason they all die soon after I embark.
I followed one around before it died and I noticed it was drowning.
Even after I added the [NO_BREATHE] tag I still see this happening and they only seem to survive for a minute until they die.
The fire hippos do not catch fire (nor do their corpses).
I haven't been able to solve this problem so I've come to the forums now to ask for help from more experienced modders.

You are able to sell the stuff you get by using this method to other traders.

I'm not sure but I think this method also prevents any negatives reactions from that civ aside from the lack of profit (please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Its a program that is generally already on your computer. If it isn't then you can always download it for free from http://www.paint.net/ 
If you don't like the look of it you can always use GIMP (also free) or do a google search for similar types of programs.
You can also use photoshop if you already have it installed.

Moody dwarves select the type of workshop they want to use but I've never seen one choose only one workshop and ignore all others (unless they have already claimed the workshop)


I have had a dwarf cancel his glassmaking at a powered magma forge, and claim a flickering forge....

By :claim a forge" I mean you literally get the message that the dwarf has claimed a forge not just working at a forge.
