(I guess this is the right subforum; it's this or bugs)

I've been away from DF a while; just updated my game, installed Mayday's pack, and started a new world/fort, and I get this:

Miners look fine, but everyone else is a 'peasant' sprite filled with a color. What gives?

I read that already. It doesn't help me.

Perhaps I should elaborate; I can add new key bindings, I just don't know how to remove old ones. For example, I can set Go Down One Floor to trigger when I type period, but I don't know how to make it so that it won't trigger if I press >.

Yeah, I did. I didn't think it escaped, but maybe it was just immediately trapped in another trap. After all, there were like ten in the area. Should I build its current cage next to the one I wanna move it to, then move it?

I have scienced it: I did get my glass blocks back. Also the glass portal I'd installed.

Hmm. I'm confused now. I have a dragon in a cage, and when I tried to move him my animal trainer was set on fire.

Wait a sec - it's in a cage trap. Does that make a difference?

Dunno about firemen, but I'm pretty sure dragons can breathe fire from inside a cage, so it's probably a similar situation.

My own question: does giving a room a high ceiling via channeling or ramps increase its quality?

To answer your second question, go to standing orders (o) and set "announce job cancellations" (x) to a lower level. "Some" will do it, I'm not sure about "most".
