Here's a screenshot of the 'mini script marketplace' in the test sandbox, featuring the new 'powers' system.

They have an IRC too.

Network: irc.quakenet.org
Channel: #topiaonline

Webchat: http://webchat.quakenet.org/?nick=Topiafan.&channels=topiaonline&prompt=1&uio=d4

Come hang out and discuss how the Slimepocolypse will wipe away the cannibal villages, the wolf hordes and the undead absolutely everywhere!

So me and a few friends did some !!SCIENCE!! with the undead.

Our main goal: Investigate reports from the front lines that zombies turn on each other at suitably high population density

Secondary goal: Find if infection rates vary for differing classes

Tertiary goal: Discover, if any, if there is any block immune to the dreaded Zombie Knight's (ZK's) swing.

Phase One: Construct a modest underground pit, in the shape of a reverse pyramid. This was suggested by one of the interns. His reasoning that although the smaller Dead can scale sheer walls, they have not been observed to climb past overhangs.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Phase Two: Construct a much deeper pit, to prevent the issue of zombies using each other as one extended piggy back. Capture a zombie knight. Discover at what density zombies turn on each other.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'd love something along the lines of "Fate of the World", except instead of desperately trying to manage humanity against an environmental crisis, it would desperately trying to manage humanity through a monster/zombie/alien/robot outbreak/invasion/whatever, with a similar level of difficulty, open endedness, and options as FotW.

I've searched but haven't found anything like it. Guess I'll have to learn to code.

Its only a tech demo so we didn't get much to talk about, pretty glitchy (since its not even an alpha yet) but it seems pretty legit so far. Check the devblog and download the tech demo and see for yourself.

Saw that, but thought the backers might have access to a more recent build or something.

I didn't back it, because I'm afraid I've been burned far too many times in scenarios like this, where you throw money at a dev with little more than a tech demo, and in the end you don't get the game promised either because the devs get bored or they just can't do it.

Sincerely hope this won't happen here, because it sounds ruddy brilliant.

All the more room for nubile young women (I am assuming Lovecraftian indie games devs get groupies).

How many people here have played the game so far? How far is it from fulfilling the feature list?

Oh, cool. There's threads here about 2d versions of this, but this is the first 3d sim like this I've seen.

Found a video, looks cool.

Demo has no CTF or Zombie.  I'm rather underwhelmed.

Yes, yes it does have CTF. Are you sure you're going to multiplayer, and changing the box at the bottom of the server screen from "BEGINNER", to "Sort via Players/Ping/whatever"? That's usually where people who make this complaint go wrong.

Seems like most battles are decided by who runs out of energy first. One guy totally dominates, but runs out of energy and loses.

Unless you do enough damage that the ref steps in.

Poor Freddy. He has not won one match, but lost 6.

My character, Stabby McTiits, has won two, lost three. I didn't realize you could pick who to fight, so ended up fighting the number one guy for the first few times. Oops

How do i get maple leaves?

By picking them off maple trees. However, there are only two per tree and they don't regen, so they end up becoming a really valuable item. There aren't any within a 45min walk of Boston these days.

Best bet is to find someone with a lumbercamp out in the woods and offer them food or whatever in exchange for a few.

Come to Mole server (when it's up). We already have a few Bay12 folk among us, and if you're polite you'll likely be given a host of tips.

I'd recommend playing through the tutorials first, and try and survive in the Single Player Survival mode for a bit first; Explaining the basics does get old.

In regards the LP, I'd be up for it. Last one I did is now a year old (featuring an Aztec dwarf, some fan art, preparations for the invasion of Hell [including ballistaes and rigged collapses], evil spirits and weird cave creatures!). Takes a while to get going, and it isn't written overly well, but worth a read.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

Click on them so that you get a green cross hairs. Picking strong and close combat make you able to kill things very easily, by the way.

I won't spoil the start sequence if you use these traits, but lets just say it's suitable hilarious/badass  8)

>Hit raider with meat cleaver
>Barely scratched

>Raider hits me with fist
>Mortal wound

LOGIC

To be fair, the Raiders lived his whole life in this world, whereas you're some jackass who was frozen for some reason. He has the life skills to suit, shall we say!

Game looks great with a ton of potential. Getting very Cataclysm like vibes off it, like this is the Dungeons of Dredmore to its Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, or something. Can't wait to play!
