Truthfully, it works about 60% of the time all the time.

Im kidding, but that's true! What I find is that I'll play the game and about 60% of the time I can rely on it working pretty quickly. The other 40% ranges from not working at all to just taking 5-6s or a lot of frustrated clicking to get it to focus.

It's definitely a great program and I love it!

I hope I didn't come off as over-critical before. You're doing great work  8)

How often does this issue occur? What operating system are you on?

Constantly. Windows 7 x64. If I can help you solve this in any way I can I will, because the fact that tracking doesn't work / is unreliable for me means I'm a bit gimped :)

I love the features and the hotkey components of your work but as of right now (using the current Masterwork package) mouse tracking is borked. It really doesn't work well for me at all. I really wish it did because this mod looks *amazing* if I could reliably use my mouse. I, like others, have to click and pray that my mouse picks up the tracking. I hope this gets improved/fixed ! :)

I haven't recently complimented this mod. SO I FELT LIKE DOING IT AGAIN.

If you had a donate button I'd send you a cup of coffee immediately.

Is there any way to get DF hack (specifically, the auto-dig tool) to work with your wonderful mod?

All I miss is being able to auto-mine veins

The gnomes and goblins take offense.

They got firearms too though!

I think tonight I will cheat to speed up gun production and try and test out all the gun functions. I'd really like to try and help this mod get somewhere, because to be frank I like dwarves who are more industrious and steampunk-ish than high fantasy. So I'd love to see a mod that takes dwarves in an industrial direction.

Toady, can you release the raw to create custom siege stuff?

I'd love to see cannons or other types of siege weapons implemented by mod or toady one day.

You can mod it in if you place all the required files into your raw folder inside your region save folder.

However the presence of guns won't have affected your worldgen.

I gave up and gave in. I genned a new world  :P

I'm playing with the Genesis mod, so opted to give humans and dwarves full access to guns, steel for dwarves only. Other races got varying types of weapons. The smarter and more industrious received access to the weapons, whereas the dumber and less industrious civilizations and elves received only spring guns.

Also, maybe consider making cannons or siege guns for defense :)

Consider a workshop for dwarves to create urine. The required way to create it is with water or a drink. Make the reaction take forever, to simulate 'aging' perhaps.

Im dying to play this, but it'll have to wait for a new world gen unless I can mod it into a save :P

DF Modding / Stop grass from being killed?
« on: September 12, 2010, 04:05:12 am »
I'm honestly pretty sick of seeing my jungle embark turn into a desert just because seven dwarves decide to walk around it!

Is there any way to change the rate at which grass/terrain changes ? I'm much more a fan of grass and such.

Or perhaps, turn it off completely.

Also you can change the amount of points avaliable in the world generator settings.

I never knew you could do that. Would be nice if you could also make people be able to have more than 10 skill levels. I guess I'm bored of doing the first year boring wait.

DF Modding / Re: Sawmill - the new wood industry

Cool idea. It would be useful also for aesthetics, to grow trees for parks and such.

Maybe you can come up with other ideas, like an actual Sawmill :D

Ironworks is more realistic, however, I feel like for balance sake something has to be done.

Iron and wrought iron are completely pointless. In most situations, by the time you are even contemplating making weapons and armor, steel is even easier to access than iron; even more so with the blast furnace allowing the use of ore.

I would suggest perhaps moving pig iron back into the situation for the sake of balance over realism.

Just a suggestion that steel is far too easy to obtain, compared to how it previously was.

If you have magma none of your forges or smelters need fuel!

For some reason I always fail to bother to dig down to magma and get my industry going near magma. I guess I just like to have my smelters work on tons of peat and coal to buff up their smelting skill.
