Disable your antivirus and try again.
It's usually those real-time protection type features that can mess with websites.

My Corporal should have finished training in November, 1986. It's December, 1986 now and it still hasn't finished training.
I don't know what my spies are doing. I don't get any reports from the missions and the View button doesn't work.
The IMF proposal has passed years ago, yet nothing has actually changed.
Given this is the third testing launch/phase for this game, I can only imagine what kind of issues were present last times.

I'm done for now.

Not sure, but I did find an option to go on Propaganda missions, using your spies/cells (Intelligence menu).

OK, I've signed and accepted treaties.
I wish the game would notify me of this somehow instead of having to manually check whether there are treaties available.

Also, here's a list of compiled list of possible problems: https://council.stepstowar.com/index.php?/topic/54-list-of-suspected-broken-mechanicsbugs/

My nation is BAHA and I'm located in the Switzerland.
I'm open to any research and economy treaties as well as B12-related alliances.

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm excited to send my spies to their first missions.

People on discord recommended refreshing the site.

I've managed to sign up. It seems the game starts late today/tomorrow.

EDIT:
8 hours to go, if this countdown is legit: https://www.tickcounter.com/countdown/545911/steps-to-war
the link was posted by a Discord mod.

Still sluggish. Maybe it's network lag? I'm from central Europe.
The site loads in ~5 secs, the times for each request range from 100 ms to 400 ms.
Not sure how to measure websocket's lag, but it seems quite fast.

Also, on Chrome the dots are only partly connected: https://imgur.com/a/5JQ3A
On FF they are fully connected.

Something in between. Win 8.1, i7 3rd gen CPU, 8 GB RAM, Radeon x600/x550 series.

I've tried it on Chrome and FF. Both are similarly sluggish, FF might be a bit less sluggish.
The size of the window also plays a factor.

Nice to see this is still being worked on.
The preview feature is functional and cool-looking.
The zoom feature and moving around the graph is sluggish for me on almost-latest version of Chrome on Windows.

Congrats. It was pouring rain at my wedding and I loved every second of it!

A possible new .io game in the making? I'm all for it!

Creative Projects / Re: Trying to learn Java or something

I started learning programming when I was 13. The programming language was mIRC scripting language. With it I created a simple chatting bot and many things after that.
I didn't ask myself whether I should use another language/tool/framework/IDE. At that time I thought that was the only option.
I simply knew what I wanted from my program and I fiddled with it because it was super FUN!

I've never used mIRC scripting language after my teens. I've never earned any money from it. There is zero demand for it.
What I've learned were the basics of programming which I've later applied to C/C++, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, ActionScript... The syntax is different, but way of thinking is the same.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... Just start programming and make sure you're having fun.

I'm coming for the visual programming language and staying for bot wars!

I'm working on somethig similar in my spare time, though it all runs within command prompt. (Batch, vbs, powershell)
Now that's interesting...
How do you tie it all up? Do you have a DB anywhere in there?
