Is the assassin still alive? If so, I would like to also patch him up.

2
I leave the dagger and take the adrenaline sticks. I give the grenades to Hawk. I do not know how to cracks safes, so I leave it alone. I take Talna to the medical bay.

3
I'll patch up Talna's wounds, using rags taken from the fallen assassin's clothing.

"This arm looks bad. This is going to need more thorough attention."

Does this ship have a medical facility?

I also search the room for any items that may be of interest, including but not limited to weaponry, ammo, armour, and medical supplies.

4
Shoot
"Stop shooting and we can talk about this."

I considered parlaying at the beginning of an encounter, but if you shoot us on sight and have an image of us stapled to the wall with a knife, the chances that working are basically nill. I came to the perfectly reasonable conclusion that this guy would have to be disabled or killed to stop him from killing us.

5
I move to cover and attack. (Move and Attack action)

6
I look for cover. Meanwhile, I shoot at the attacker with my pistol (draw and fire).

edit: Normally I'd try to negotiate, but it's pretty clear that talking isn't going to work here.

Going to the captain instead of straight to the possibly violent or vengeful owner of the slothen might be a good idea, but my Adherence: 1 says we're taking this into our own hands as long as you guys are willing to go with me. Obviously I don't have to avoid authority simply because of a low Adherence score, but I judge us reasonably capable of taking care of this.

"Alright, let's go see the owner. He deserves to know what happened."

8
I would also like to search the food court for any vinegar I could borrow for medical purposes.

9
Glancing around, I look for anything that might be usable as makeshift bandages and rags for cleaning up the wounds.

"Alright, let's take a look at this."

Pouring water from my bottle onto some of the rags, I do my best to clean up the scratches left by the slothen, then wrap them in the bandages as best I can.

"I'm rather worried about why that slothen might have attacked you. If it was diseased, it could be a big problem. Did it behave in odd ways, such as by twitching or foaming; or did it just seem angry and scared?"

Are slothen known to carry any diseases that might infect Tessari?

"And how are you?" I ask, turning to the Oreamnos.

"But I'm being rude, we should introduce ourselves. My name is Enton Sanatore, a trained doctor once, though I'm sadly short on equipment these days."

A character always has 1 chance to understand a new technology
and even penalties cannot take away this chance. Additional chances may
be granted by certain factors (see bonus chances below).
...
+3 for any technology if Mature
...
+1 for any technology if Intelligence greater than 13
+1 for any technology if Wisdom greater than 13
+1 for any technology if Human
...
+1 per level for any medical technology if a Medic
...
I count 7 chances, or 8 if medical.

edit:
Unless you don't count me for the Int and Wis thresholds, in which case it's 5 and 6, and I should have only one language.

Also, I imagined the adrenaline stick as a drug with + to strength, health and dexterity but - to wisdom/intelligence. Intro scene coming tomorrow.

Hrm. I doubt it, considering it's a standard medical object worth 50 VUs, but okay.

Okay, now I could play a medic or an empath. I guess I'd better go medic, though.
Also important to note, native language isn't determined by species, it's determined by the region you grew up in.
Quote from: p34
A  character  always begins play knowing
the  vernacular  language  of  their  home  region  or  planet.
I'll go with the languages you've picked though.

edit:
One question: Have I ever heard of Hydaria Station? If so, I have a Minor Ambition: Find Hydaria Station.
Otherwise it's: Find information about CTF fuel production.

edit2:
Additionally, I would like to walk into the caffeteria just as the fight is ending, and have the two minor ambitions mentioned: Find out who owned the slothen, and find out what's happening onboard.

edit3:
I want to know the effects of two pieces of equipment that the rulebook fails to describe: Adrenaline Stick and Medical Pack.
I would assume that the adrenaline stick is some kind of healing potion, seeing as HP is essentially fatigue in this system. If so, how much does it heal? Damage looks like it's dealt out faster than in DnD for ranged weapons, about twice as much, so assuming it's at least a Light Healing Potion (1d8+1) shouldn't be too much, right?

12
Oh no, did I kill the thread?

13
I'd love to play an empath, and spent the last several hours thinking about my character and falling in love with the concept. Unfortunatly:
A) That wisdom is not good enough for an empath to use their abilities, as you say.
B) I just read the rules about attribute damage, specifically the part where it become permanent after 12 hours without the tender loving care of a medic, who needs to make an intelligence test to care for you. So unless you guys want to suffer brain damage every time you're tapped on the noggin (golem excluded), a medic is non-negotiable.

edit:
And the loss of any attribute will kill you. So that 4 dex? Not just a liability, but also a probable death sentence too. Compounded if there's not also a medic.

14
I'd like to join, but with those stats I don't think I'll be particularly good at anything.
I'd play a medic, because it's clear you guys could do with one, but an 11 intelligence doesn't really make that the best idea.
Constitution is my best stat, but that doesn't really clear me for any party role.
My strength is okay, I guess, so I'll probably have to be a soldier, but won't be able to use any ranged weaponry at all with that dex.
Really, though, that is an utterly crap stat set, not because it's bad on average (it is the lowest stat set of the lot, but only by a little), but because I can't think of anything I could do well with it. Could I get a reroll? If not, I'll see if I can build a pure-melee soldier without dying too much.

I thought the idea was to create a race and entity for the god-tiers?
