Currently, only bmp. Once Toady merges with the d# stuff, we'll get our transparency and png formats back.

You could have all of the female dwarves get into your miscarriage machine every two seasons. If they're pregnant, now they aren't. if they weren't... oh well.

Your definition of "fun" does not seem to be the DF definition of fun.

The newest version of Dwarf Companion works on 40D16.
If you hunt around the thread, somebody packed it into an executable file, so if you can't get python working, try that.

Sometimes evil sites will be peaceful, other times they will be filled with skeletal fish who tear apart your dwarves.
You were just unlucky.

Wait what
Putting the skull/head of a killed goblin is considered abusing their body/butchering sapients?

So does this explain why, when I traded multiple extremely high value, 1000 count stacks of masterful dwarf milk roasts, the trader became unhappy and immediately left?

If your fort hasn't been stricken by a massacre of some sort, expect hundreds (or thousands) of engravings pertaining to the founding of your fort, the election of a mayor, various shapes, and maybe goblins being struck down.

For the time when you must flip the "purge" button, it is only acceptable to encase everything in obsidian. This will kill everything, and allow your scientists to excavate for anything interesting in the remains.

__________

7 - water on a retractable bridge
7 - magma on a retractable bridge
_ (bottom one) - floor

The first z level will be your floor, the next will be empty, the third will contain magma on top of a retractable bridge, the fourth will also be empty, and the top one will have your water.
Dig out four z levels above every tile on your ground level, set up the retractable bridges and attach them to levers. The first lever drops the magma, and the second drops the water. Then, pump in your magma and water. When the water level is pulled, anything still alive from the magma drop will be purged.

Bonus points if you dig the lab around the HFS.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Farming Question
« on: January 10, 2010, 12:17:49 pm »
Miasma is controlled by Inside/Outside, not by Aboveground/Underground. So yes, a roof will cause miasma.
I have a refuse pile located under an area that was channeled out and then floored over, making it inside.
Many goblin corpses have rotted there, and not a single once has produced miasma.

I suggest using stairs to mine large areas, as you'll be able to go back and smooth the edges and stuff.
But anyway, just don't use ramps to channel under an area with trees right above it. The tree prevents the area from being channeled, and caves in. (Probably killing your miner)

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Strange items in cages
« on: January 07, 2010, 04:10:50 pm »
The seed got into the cage because your animal trainer fed an animal something to tame it.
As to getting it out select the unbuilt cage with the k menu, and use enter to select the item and then press d to mark it for dumping. A dwarf should come along to dump it.
