I've had gobbos path across a ramped moat full of water before, I think they may have dodged onto the ramp then freaked out making it to the other side by chance.

But I remove them all the time now :D

A Z level up also helps, Thefore always use marksmen in a tower ;D

Hi all,

Loving the new version. Just had an interesting experience.
Had an ambush and 1 goblin got into my fort before the bridge rose.

Now I sent my unarmed barely trained squad to try and slow him down, He managed to chop someones hand off then get stuck in a cage (THANKARMOK)

The guy without the hand went and laid down in the barracks going faint and what not. Then bam. Less than 1 minute later he is up and training again. Full of Health.
After hearing horror stories about people losing dwarf's to infection and bloodloss, Well im confused.

Do I have an Xman in my midsts or will he keel over later down the line.



I will note, I have NO docotor.

Personally I'd use fortifications, But have multiple levels of filtration

you dont need to have the floor tiles constructed if you want to use a well, afaik well desalinates water on its own

if you are using screw pumps without wells, then yes, you need to build up the whole cistern

if you are using screw pump with a well, dont bother

I have built an ocean well, Water was unusable D:
Lost a whole fortress to it. Well dont desalt anymore.

I know pumps desalination work will be reversed if a natural wall is touched.

Hey all,

I remember making a well over channelled salt water before and it allowing dwarves to drink from it. Has this been fixed?
I ask because I channeled saltwater into my base. Build a well over it.

And cant set it as a water zone :(

Military: Broken or not, Its still an improvement. Being able to be picky about uniform and weapon choice is great. And the kill commands are quite handy.

Caverns: I have a reason to dig down now :D

From what I know, this is a known physics glitch when high pressure is in the equation.

Though I have never had it happen to me, so high pressure must be an understatment. (I've had the whole force of a river used before and still nothing was pushed through :\)

Hi all,

In the previous version of DF I know Aquifers could be modded out by simply removing all mention of them from the matgloss files... Well that doesnt work in the new version.

So I ask you all. How Do I remove them from the game? Im simply not a good enough player to beat them yet, but I want to build next to a lake

My solution is an incerator, basically a room that floods full of magma then drains away.
Hard part is finding a volcano
