Yeah, it's probably the one from the timeline where he confronted Typheus because Terezi told him to. Guess this is as good a time as any to get back to him. We know that they had a conversation before Typheus killed him, but not much else.

But now that you have that out of your system, can we go back to the normal rate of character death?
If you think about it, counting today, the character death rate has probably been slightly below average over the past year.

Probably. Maybe Hussie wasn't feeling particularly murderous over the hiatus.

Anyway, upd8!

Do do do, trying to get back into DF and logging into my old account that I haven't touched in forever.

Oh hey, Homestuck's updating again, nearly forgot about that. Time to pick up from where it left off...

what the shit

... Okay, Hussie, I see that a year without updating caused a little bit of a build up. But now that you have that out of your system, can we go back to the normal rate of character death? And while we're at it could you please start resurrecting or making this a doomed timeline or something please please I actually like some of these guys.

Though, seeing John beat the crap out of Caliborn was very satisfying.

I don't get it, do we call a new update a potato or old updates potato? Also there hasn't been an update, or potato, so you know, don't go checking the page just because I used the word update, or potato, or both, or neither. You get it.

The old updates are potatoes, as we have been conditioned to refresh the site whenever we see the word (at least I have).

Oh thank goodness, nice Jade- wait just a goddamn minute, how come she don't have ghosty eyes?
I think they can turn it off? Feferi didn't have ghost eyes when she was talking to Jade.
Neither did Dead!John.

He did once he realized he was dead. Either this Jade does not know she isn't dead, is some alternate Jade who is not dead, or something else we don't know about.

That is most definitely the appropriate response to Gamzee.

Definitely. This is the first time Gamzee has made me laugh in quite some time. Good thing that Aranea's keeping him controlled. A free-willed Gamzee is pretty much guaranteed to cause trouble.

JOHN: it was a stupid idea based on hardly anything. like one day of conversations.
JOHN: but since i've gotten to know her better...
JOHN: i don't know.
JOHN: i think i might actually...
JOHN: kind of hate her?

I'm fine. I am totally fine. I can take this-DAMN YOU HUSSIE! Because I am totally okay and am not getting my heart broken by fictional characters-HATE YOU SO MUCH! My face is not covered with blood and tears because I got super worked up over a silly romance side plot in a webcomic-WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!? Because I am totally fine and not in denial at all.

Wait, competent people acting in concert to do plausible things? In my Homestuck?

I find it hard to believe as well. There's gotta be a catch somewhere.

Well, that thought bubble was a callback I was not expecting. But, anyway, it looks like John has some kind of goal now, instead of just running away and being sent to various places and times at random.

And another conversation interrupt... lovely.

Yep. Yet another conversation/meeting the fans have been anticipating for a long time rendered worthless by stardust glitches. It is nice to know that no matter what twists and turns this comic makes, Hussie trolling us will never change.

Wounddrinks is now the new capital of its parent civilization, The Dimpled Salves. Queen Doren Mansionfleshes arrived with her consort and entourage in tow. The legendary soldiers she brought have been integrated into the military, and her room has been carved out, smoothed and decorated with golden furniture and artifacts.

In other news, the goblins have changed their battle plans it seems. The sieges have stopped in favor of ambushes. These ambushes seem to come one squad at a time, so the military is handling them with few casualties so far. It's only a matter of time until the goblins step things up though. There is also a steady stream of snatchers coming, but all but a few are quickly snapped up by my cage traps.

Okay, it is currently Spring of Wounddrinks' eighth year. Nothing too exciting has happened so far. Occasionally a kobold pops up, or a wild animal from the caverns runs up the central stairwell and smashes a baby's brain in, but that's not all that interesting. The main is that I'm starting up a ceramic industry. I've already got clay laying around, so I'm putting it to use. I'm only making earthenware bricks right now, as my many constructions are eating through my stone supplies like crazy. But soon ceramics will join the list of goods that Wounddrinks exports.

Also, Wounddrinks has a population of 185, 89 of which are children and babies. I can't wait until those little useless idiots grow up so that they become slightly larger useful idiots.

God damn. I know things have been slow here but we just went over this. But yes, this appears to be an actual thing that is happening. And with Hussie it will likely be a dating sim like no other.
