You are just one of those 80% of DF players.
I, for one, can't stand unknowingly having farming enabled on white skinned male dwarf or having a specialist that is not the most suitable dwarf for this position and produces 3% less masterworks. Also, it is easier now with masonry with mass building, but enabling/disabling mining on everyone still takes lots of time for large-scale terramorphing.

I don't know if I'm more confused about the term "terramorphing" or the part where white folks can't farm.


I'd just like to point out the absurdity of pointing out that someone is playing a sandbox game incorrectly.
It's my sandbox, and you can't use the sand that way. *raspberry*

The fat guy is a rancher, not a farmer. And the American Gothic dude was just the painters dentist who he asked to dress like a farmer to pose for the painting  :P

Are the updates frustrating? I imagine they must be, having elements of gameplay changed drastically close to publishing, and now there's minecarts coming up. Is the publishing date being pushed back a little, or are you just going ahead with the initial run? Just curious.

I think minecarts are a ways away from a release.

While a prison under the magma is a good choice for later on, for now try building an atom smasher or a ceiling over her head supported by a pillar connected to a lever.

I guess the whole immigration/emigration will be revamped somewhere in the caravan arc.
It would be cool if unhappy dwarves would decide to emigrate themselves, that immigrants could be sent away. Unhappy citizens should be more inclined towards developing an intolerance towards immigrants and will beat them up or elect a mayor who promises to take care of the question by deportations and by stationing marksdwarves along the borders.

If knowledge items will be tradable between civs, then technically couldn't you import a slab with the Secrets of Life and Death on it, then make multiple copies, and produce a fortress full of necromancers? Hell, you could engrave the secrets onto the walls! But only on the inner walls so no outsiders see them  :D.

I'm a vampire necromancer and was able to recruit a mummy once. But when i tried to leave the catacomb he got attacked by all the stray animals in town.


Before recruiting him, when I asked him about the surrounding area, he listed his own catacomb, and how in the current year, my adventurer desecrated his tomb, which was the thing just taking place that very second.
