General Discussion / Re: MSPA Homestuck

Am I the only one worried about how humanity's likely to go extinct in the long run? I mean, god-tier immortality may not be a thing in the new 'verse, and, well, there's like nine(?) human beings left with basically zero genetic diversity. Unless the ectobiology lab made it to the new 'verse, they're kinda... well, doomed.
Why would there be any skyscrapers on the planet with nine people to live in them?

I was assuming carpacians, given the sheer number of 'em in the post-victory scenes.

So I'm starting to assemble an IRL tabletop group. Which is good, because it gives me an excuse to get out of the apartment, and also means I'll actually be able to play stuff face-to-face again.

Also, just got over a slow-burn, month-long anxiety fit on Monday. The feeling of relief and freedom was amazing.

Blargh. Kinda happy that it's finally updating again, kinda grumpy because oh hey figures that it happens after I switch away from a browser with flash support.

Apparently 'Vorthon' is fairly common as a username on, at least gaming sites. Most of 'em seem to be German. Proooooobably comes from the fact that there's a 2007 TV movie (The existence of which I only recently found out about) whose German name contains the word 'Vorthon'.

But yeah. Heads up: If you see 'Vorthon' on another site, don't presume it's me. Because, well, 99% chance it's not. 100% if it's on a gaming service.

I hate to say this, but I'm likely to wind up scrapping this project and using the system for a more... monetarily motivated project. I've finally decided to use one of my original settings along with the system from this project to try to produce a marketable product. I will try to send out copies (assuming I wind up being able to afford printing costs, anyways), to anybody who's been interested in this project and would be interested in the one I've got in the works as a sort of apology. I've yet to settle on a setting, but so far it's a tie between 1920's/1930's fantasy with pulp and cosmic horror themes, a post-apoc/the-magic-came-back kind of setting, or an alt-history space opera that diverges from actual history in the 60's. Terribly sorry, but I've got to do, well, SOMETHING with my life, and doing something hopefully profitable would be nice.

Kinda feel a need to pipe up re: Flying Dice's rant about sci-fi/fantasy stuff, specifically re: pulp.

The pulps I've read weren't that... bad, really? Granted, they were Analog and Asimov's so there was some quality control, I'm assuming, and the Analog issue I read had an interesting essay on worldbuilding, but still. That bit kinda surprised me. >_>

Sorry, got caught up in other projects. Gonna take another shot at it once I've got my current project (Stone/bronze age-ish setting for 5e D&D, primarily Babylonian/Sumerian inspired) to a usable state.

Up here it's basically 'two' with a k shoved on the end. But apparently they're not called that in most of the US. Apparently 'beanie' is used in the western states, at least.

I just found out that Americans don't call toques toques. I'm honestly kind of weirded out by it.

I might have to change my goal if all this money keeps rolling in. Don't want to pop out the same day I finally get in. :u

I started watching Cowboy Bebop recently. I'm liking it very, very much.

I think I might've fractured my arm. Thing is, it took me over 24 hours to notice the pain. Definitely heading in to the hospital tomorrow.

Really,

if the product is not in a state you where you find it enjoyable, do not part with your money.

If you buy promises, don't be surprised when you receive an empty box.

Well, you don't have to be happy with the empty box.
I'm reminded of the old cliché about kids enjoying empty boxes more then what was inside, but I don't know how that fits into the metaphor.

Modding?
