I often work in various offices all over and ended up in one near a programmer today, he was swearing every 15 mins or so.  Totally brought out my potty mouth later.  that might explain this silly thought.


So for some silly ass reason I wondered how many lines of code does this game currently contain?  Just straight stuff not the mods or anything else pure bay12games code.  Then I wondered how many lines do they produce in an average day, and then if you could figure that out how long till release.  Just purely based on the data we have.

So I ask/ponder.  Is it feasible for this thing to get to 1.0 and how old will I be?

Success at long last!  I finally genned a world with a volcano, and war with all the races.  Thanks for the help folks.  I am going to have to save a copy of this one somewhere.  I modded the elves for snatching and so on.  Year 1050.  age of legends.  thanks again!

perma war with the elves!  brilliant! Thanks for that idea.  That is exactly the thing I was looking for. 
What about adding baby snatcher to the humans as well is that too much? ???  As soon as I am done with work I am going to gen some of these ideas

I must confess I am a bit of a world gen junkie myself, and I have been using the legends viewer to really dig deep into the worlds I am creating and have enjoyed some minor luck with getting some of the things I want, but have failed to successfully make a truly dark, war torn world yet.

I also have a preference for dark evil worlds but I like my evil worlds filled with more monsters and titans and goblins than the clouds and rains.  900 of each of those sounds like something that would drive me nuts.  I also love to have the world dominated by wars, and the majority of beings to be goblins and kobolds.  Any advice about getting this would be greatly appreciated.  I know there are a few mods out there that can help with this a little but I prefer to push the vanilla program to its limits than modify it.

I would love a world with more dragons, and goblins arriving on lots of scary mounts.  Elves, humans etc and fine.  I did see some things a world gen cook book thread somewhere about how it might be accomplished but I couldn't replicate it.

I was thinking the military could roll over the goblins in the cart roller coaster style down a track and then jump out and finish up the rest. 


but now that i understand the system. I think that whiny noble dwarfs would make very nice ammo, along with something flammable and magma.

I have been lurking and trying to read others posts waiting for a sign that catapults might be improved to something in the useful as a weapon area and dreaming of how best to weaponize minecarts.  So far I think I read that we won't be seeing catapults with parabolic trajectories yet.  Which is fine, I can wait....  How many of you are also dreaming of how to send mine carts flying at objects?  After seeing the post today I was soon envisioned mine carts filled with fully armored dwarf squads sailing into combat at high velocity like some weird mash up between a Calvary charge and that scene from jack ass where they are all in a giant grocery cart going down hill.

Oh what fun!  Any thoughts on making this even more ridiculous?

I recently created a small dark world where it seems the goblin groups have been dominated by an elf or dwarf leader so it looks like one of the two dwarf civs when you start actually have a goblin city as part the civ.  I have never seen this before and now I want to mess with them, even if they are lead by a dwarf.  Is it better to start as part of the civ with the dominated dark fortress goblin civ and then attack the caravans that arrive or is it better to start as the other dwarf civ?

Ok its sinister biome, with lots of profane gas clouds.  But all the dwarfs are inside...  How would I know if its vermin?

So I can't figure out why my dwarfs keep falling down unconscious in the mess hall or hallways or front gate.  What causes this?

Aloha Folks,

Does anyone know a good source for information on world gen?  I have done some digging and searching on the forums etc.  i have read the wiki but one question remains.  why do some world show gobins civ and others don't on the map?  Is this a bug/feature?

My current quest is to generate a tiny world with as many goblins, caves etc and be at war with everyone...  I am close to a perfect formula but not yet.

I did learn that pink goblin sites are more populated that grey, but what does it mean if some of them don't show?  too small or just hidden?
