Annnyway, does anyone know when the Upper House election is? I've heard rumours it's coming up soonish.

As I understand it, the Senate  half-election will be held concurrently with any Lower House election held on or after August 3.

Dafuq. I should have the Sword of Islam and Ruler Desginer DLC, but they are not showing up in the "select DLC" screen. Whats happening?

If you have the game on Steam, it's a known problem. Verifying the integrity of your game cache should fix it.

Don't worry, the only interaction with others that he has now is when he is re-enemied or swarmed by attackers  :D.

I don't even know why he plays anymore, then. Did he steal the entirety of his city's credits, or what? I can't remember what he did.

Also, who were you? I was Skargak.

Yes, he stole the entirety of Krondor's treasury.

In game, I was and still am known as Aodh.

The Hall of Worlds
3 June 2010
Pug of Crydee appeared today, revealing to Anders Aldous that those who reach level 100, a Lord of the Planes, are able to use the strange doorways across Midkemia to travel to and from the Hall of Worlds, a strange and wondrous place between the planes.

I had serious rage face from this.

Dude must've spent at least three grand on his character, though. Probably more.

Don't worry, the only interaction with others that he has now is when he is re-enemied or swarmed by attackers  :D.

I'm a big Raymond E. Feist fan.

But I'll never play in a game world where RL cash is the most powerful thing you have. People that developed pay-for-advantage systems should be drug out into the street and shot. Nothing violates the core premise of gaming more than buying your way through the experience.

I get somewhat annoyed that people can pay for stuff, too. But you must realise that unlike a lot of MUDs, Midkemia Online is made and run by professionals rather than amateurs.

Also, there is very little direct advantage by paying money. You cannot pay money to go up levels or increase experience, ao people who pay have to put in just as much hard work as anyone else, they will just get some powers sooner.

Is Anders still kicked out of all the cities and KoS?

God damn, I hated that guy.

Yes, fortunately.

I know that this is a few months late, but reading some of the posts in this thread, I felt a need to reply.

Midkemia Online is my first MUD, and I have been playing since it opened in December last year. I have reached the position of second-in-command of one of the organisations, I am ranked in the top 130 in the game (out of many hundreds of players). I have a decent weapon. I have not once spent any (real) money on the game. There is no need to spend real money on the game unless you want to get to the top as quick as possible. Everything can be achieved without spending any real money at all. There is no possible way to buy weapons using real money.

With regards to the PvP, I have been assured by others that the PvP in Midkemia Online is nothing like PvP in Achaea or any other Iron Realms game. To me, it is fairly intuitive and sensible.

With regards to Dakk's comment about creepy roleplayers: I would not say that there are any 'creepy' roleplayers in Midkemia Online. There are, however, some brilliant roleplayers who are fantastic to be around as they bring life to the game.

I hope that I have perhaps convinced some of you to take a second look at this fantastic game.
