I think it's called "Slash'em".

Not sure though, it's been a really long time since I last played it.

I knew I should've locked the thread.

The issue was resolved earlier. Go home.

You should have locked this thread. Shame on you for not.

After the first page I got bored with the attention-whoring. Then I got bored again and read some more.

Well, I'm not concerned yet, per se. I just wanted to gather some anecdotal information and guidance from a community I trust.

I'd sooner trust the opinion of a physician than a forum ON THE INTERNET.

Go to the bloody doctor.

This thread made me very sad.

Desert elf prince has [COMMANDER:WINDWALKER:ALL] when desert elves don't have windwalkers listed, they have dunespeakers.

What exactly do the "special" skills do? IE Human Paladin, something Windwalker, Osman's Windsword or something.

WTF are they for?

How is coal + volcano unfair?

Chop off your arm after constructing a new steel one. Attach it to your shoulder socket and WHAM, you're part robot now!

Nethack did this, Dorf Fortress can too!
Nethack did? Please show me a video of it,that sounds awesome.

It was either Nethack or a game very similar. You could use materials like say, a Phoenix Feather or a steel golem's arm to fashion yourself a replacement should you lose a limb.

DF Suggestions / Re: Adventure mode campfires.

As it stands, you're very vulnerable to enemys when you sleep in the wilderness. I was thinking, you could craft a campfire, it would set down on your current location and any agressive but not mythical creatures [ie. cougars, lions, bears, wolves, etc.] would stay away from the fire, so you could safely sleep in the wilderness. It would also be a nice aesthetic addition.

There are campfires in the game.

Set a tree on fire and go to sleep. The fire contains itself for the 8 hours.

DF Suggestions / Re: An idea for apprentices

This gives me an idea about that stupid childcare mess.

Instead of complexitating children, just have them earn points toward a particular skill when they see it in action. IE, a child walks by some guy chopping down wood, he gets a few points in wood cutting. Loitering around the damn kitchens? He gets points in cooking. Etc, etc.

This could also apply in Adventurer mode. See some guy twirling and fancifully dispatching foes with that particular bit of metal or wood? Hey, I might could do the same! I think I'll observe his movements and learn from it!! (+1-2 points from each swing in that specification).

I'll look into Dorf Therapist.

Until then I'm flooding this fort.

My mason just went crazy after seeing a carp and bashed another dorf's head in with a cabinet.

My fort is slowly dying.

For some reason a few of my dwarves won't do anything, my farmer won't farm or plant seeds, only my newly migrated carpenter will do it. My only military dwarf won't go train, he sits on his booty all day long, the only people that will use the obstacle course are people were actually working.

I don't understand the new military system.

Or why my dwarves are being lazy.

Only that I'm very tempted to break open the lock on my river seal and let loose the tides of water.

They're really pissing me off.

Although I'd hate to interrupt your revelling in your victimhood, if you actually want to help any, you could try going through some of those threads, especially the ones that talk about WHY it is difficult to achieve these things, and actually try to come up with some solutions to the programming problems, rather than attacking the people who have pointed out that there are problems.

Pardon me for interrupting your righteous fury.

But...

I HAVE CHORTLES!

 I attacked no one.

And yes I know that programming is hard. I took a semester of it and still had to refer back to the book for making a calculator.

Sifting through millions of pages of junk is not my late night cup'a tea.

So, my mistake, I'll search a couple times before I make another post.

I just killed a dragon. And while carrying said dragon corpse I mysteriously started to melt.

What a world, what a world!

Your adventurer is allergic to dragons.

Shame on me for trying to help.

 Yes.

Very good.

Thank you.
