DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Wear your goddamn uniform!

The mining/hunting thing did the trick, many thanks! It took quite a bit of rearranging schedules, deleting and recreating squads and cursing, but they hold onto their weapons and armor now (except one guy who stubbornly refuses to take up a shield).

DF Gameplay Questions / Wear your goddamn uniform!

Hey there.

I'm a bit exasperated about my dwarves-at-arms unwillingness to wear their equipment all the time.

I got them in a squad. I checked their schedules and it says Inactive=Uniformed on every single month of both default alert states.

They still dump their armor and weapons whenever they don't have any concrete orders (move, kill etc.)

I set up a barracks, and now they do their "individual combat drill"-thing, and they do wear equipment then... but if I remember correctly, there is some bug with infinite training, correct? Did I miss something in the squad screen, or does anyone else notice that behavior?

True, of course... but I tend to forget that. ;-) So I'd rather do it once and can then regen at my leisure.

The only new tags in world_gen.txt are [MINERAL_SCARCITY:2500] (after volcanism frequency) and [NIGHT_CREATURE_NUMBER:52] (after demon number). At least those are the only ones in Large Region-Type maps; the values are also taken from those.

The defaults chosen by the game if those tags are missing can produce some strange results...

I've seen several complaints about 2500 being too high for enjoyable mining; so you could edit that a bit. 1000 is supposed to be quite nice, 100 will drown you in ores and gems, if I understood that correctly.

DF General Discussion / Re: Lazy Newb Pack [0.31.25] [V9.1] Updates

I noticed the same thing as xeo, LNP doesn't seem to remember most of the .ini changes made via the GUI. Strangely, it remembers Sound:off and Intro:off, but things like Popcap and Aquifers are resetted every time I relaunch the LNP.exe after playing DF.

Hey there!

Newb question:
I apologize in advance if this is a well known problem, but I couldn't find anything on it, and I don't even know whether my problem is with DF itself, the LNP or the tilesets.
I have some font problems. Several characters, mainly letters with diacritics and the lowly comma are represented in the menu entries, dwarf names etc with their respective tileset symbols (a comma for some sort of rock etc.) Slightly annoying...

Any tips, or welcomed scoldings for not being able to search a forum?  :-[
Or is this utterly normal and will only be rectified once Truetype-Support is fully implemented?
