I've done that with one Fortress so far..and for the life of me I cannot locate it with my Adventurers.

Is there a way to stop all of your dwarves from constantly fetching bolts your hunter or soldiers have fired? When there are like 40+ bolts spread across the far reaches of the map and your dwarves are either constantly complaining of being interrupted by monsters, or just wandering for ages to retrieve a single bolt, it is annoying.

I've looked around in the refuse options and didn't see anything, please tell me if I've missed it somewhere.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Steel helm included in plate outfit?
« on: September 01, 2006, 01:09:00 am »
It took a long time for any my dwarves to grab their Steel Helmets, they always grabbed leather caps, and other junk instead, despite their settings, and the abundance of Helms. They did slowly.. but surely, over the years start to wear them, dont know what the issue is.

Just press "Enter", it should select/deselect them.

Blasting your problems with magma will not solve everything. There should totally be repercussions for that.

I've never had to kill a dwarf. I've had a handful of fortress' with populations in the 100 range, and there have been plenty of bad injuries, and a few tantrums throughout, but never anything that didn't sort itself out properly, and never anything that demolished my fortress.

A few versions ago injuries started healing themselves fairly well in my experience, maybe I'm just lucky.

I've also noticed that the act of butchering cats OR dogs, brings about the unhappy thought of "Witnessed Death" which sends the Butcher into a quick spiral of unhappiness, intended? No self respecting Butcher should be bothered by his profession, and he should be more then happy to get rid of some of those 80+ dogs I have infesting my cave.   :p

I have also noticed something strange about Detailing, it may be intended, I dont know..

Whenever I get a Legendary Engraver, about 30% of his 2nd teir Detail work (the artsy stuff) is Masterpiece quality. It's like he's a Van Gogh.

Just thought I'd let you know.

DF Suggestions / Re: Risk vs reward with more dangerous areas
« on: August 31, 2006, 01:25:00 am »
Indeed, Calm areas have begun to be quite dull to my taste. There is not even an evil civ in the area of my current Fortress, is very sad. So I suppose the logical thing would be to get raped by elephants, until Calm is no longer dull.   ;)

DF Suggestions / Re: Penalty for destroying a support
« on: August 30, 2006, 09:43:00 pm »
Something that endangers the Fortress to that extent, should be a very serious matter to Dwarf society. I'm sure they pride themselves on their tunneling, and to have someone destroy a support and potentially kill other dwarves and destroy part of what they have created, UNTHINKABLE!

DF General Discussion / Re: Hunting

One more follow up question.. dealing with Trapping. So I've trapped a Large Roach, and some blue jays, am I only able to make them into pets? or is there a way to butcher these babies.

Ah alright, thanks. I thought the outdoor refuse order might have done the trick, though cleaning up the forest can take awhile.
