Had my shield arm chopped off. Managed to kill three more people before the bleeding stopped. When it finally did stop I was extremely close to bleeding out. Three or four more turns would've done it.

Oh, I never thought of that. The body parts still rot after a while though.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Body parts being stuck in fortifications?
« on: February 12, 2011, 05:28:05 pm »
Exactly what it says in the title.

Anyways, I had a hallway with fortifications carved into the walls so my dorfs could make gobbo pincushions. I also had a few traps in there for good measure. One of the traps took a goblins arm off, and it went flying into the fortification, and kept alternation between the fortification and severed limb. The dorfs couldn't pull the arm out until I had the fortification deconstructed.

Has any else have this happen to them?

Put an animal stockpile around the area you want to dump stuff off of. Make sure the open space is designated at a pit.
Or, b-j and build cages on a bridge of some sort, link them all up to a lever, then pull to release them. The retract the bridge

Dear Urist McMason,

Thanks for getting the walls up in such a timely manner, instead of sleeping. Due to your haste (or lack thereof), we now have five dwarves with their heads caved in by a skeletal horse. Hope you can outrun it.

Regards,

Management

Ah, that's too bad. Although seeing a siege being crushed to death by stautes would be hilarious.

Hmm... This gives me an idea.
Could you have a single floor tile, held up by a support, with items strewn around the support (preferably heavy), and link it to a pressure plate, and use it as sort of a shrapnel bomb? Id probably put a bait animal behind it, and channel the enemies through a one tile wide chokepoint, where the pressure plate would be.

I think I saw on the wiki that when you have 20k exported, the liason will approach you about becoming a barony.
