Hello, all!

This is a tileset I made years ago but always forgot to share.
It is a clean 16x16 tileset based on curses.

DF Modding / Re: graphics help - axedwarfs show as woodcutters

found and fixed the cause for the woodcutter axedwarfs, it was a duplicate graphics config file with the wrong tile position.
but the all military as stoneworkers in status screen continues.

DF Modding / graphics help - axedwarfs show as woodcutters
« on: August 03, 2014, 07:26:45 pm »
hello, i'm having problems/bugs/strange behavior with graphics for military dwarfs.
as the title says, the axedwarfs show with the graphics of the woodcutters
strangely, one of my dwarfs is legendary in some civilian skill and when the game blinks to its blue legendary it uses the correct graphic, but greyscale, even if the axedwarf tile is marked as AS_IS.

here are the tokens for related graphics:
[WOODWORKER:DWARVES:1:1:AS_IS:DEFAULT]

[AXEMAN:DWARVES:8:0:AS_IS:DEFAULT]

[MASTER_AXEMAN:DWARVES:9:0:AS_IS:DEFAULT]

Strangely, the graphics for recruits work

[RECRUIT:DWARVES:8:1:AS_IS:DEFAULT]

another strange behavior is that in the 'z' status screen all military show as stoneworkers

this is called super-collision. if you stack 7 balls each 7 times more massive than the one above, and drop them from a meter, the top one could reach earth escape velocity (if it survived the impact)

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Pink I showing on both Region and Local??

Ok... joke done, now to be helpful.
Stay away from the purple 'I'. Its a necromancer tower, the necros will siege you with zombies and will raise anything that gets killed, including defeated zombies, your dwarves, and animals.
if you want to take the challenge, go vegan, and try a military with blunt weapons and blunt traps. if you place some cage traps you may cage a necro if you are really lucky. don't use edge weapons as that makes the body parts multiply and they can be raised individually (you don't want an army of severed hands against you)

They are alchemists and pay very well for body parts, so be sure to have plenty by hunting and put refuse and corpse stockpiles near your depot for effiency.

the moss must be under the mud. dirt only caverns have moss, it just looks like dirt because its muddy. So it can catch fire

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Dwarven Linguistics: Community Project
« on: August 26, 2013, 06:00:18 pm »
I imagine dwarven as being a very regular language.
If I were to build a dwarven language, I would probably base it on ancient greek and hebraic grammatics (and not only because I know them).

My suggestion is to define suffixes, both verbal and nominal.

Also, would dwarven have a explicit neutral gender? It would save some work by hiding the neutral in one of the other genders like portuguese does (masculine can be both masculine and neutral)

look at the comments for that scp:

The Magma Carp SCP-788 has come!
An enormous carp composed of magma! It has a thick picritic skin and it squirms and fidgits!
Beware its high internal body temperature!

So, kind of a crossbreed between Slugma and Luvdisc?

SheblehaShebleha 30 Aug 2011, 19:58
I just put SCP-788 into the format of a description of the Forgotten Beasts/Titans from Dwarf Fortress, because magma and carps are very big things to Dwarf Fortress players.

The name immediately made me think of DF, so yes.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / casting around candy
« on: July 13, 2013, 09:06:22 am »
have anyone ever tried to cast obsidian around a candy cane to get every piece of candy of it?
would it be possible, using the candy canes, to cast and drain the magma sea?

General Discussion / Re: Protests in Brazil
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:47:28 pm »
most protests here are peaceful and the police only starts to react when there is vandalism or aggression
(as the sparkle of the protests was police over-reaction, police was told to be more careful)
probably most policemen agree with the protests but they have the job of keeping the order
unfortunately they are over-reacting in some places
