e: There is actually a really easy way to get around this and it's already been mentioned. Don't be so egotistical. Make a new account and don't call it something stupid like Pathos v2. Then don't tell anyone you're Pathos save your friends and don't do anything that gets you banned and hey presto! You're part of the forum again! If you really want to be back, take the blow to your pride and do that.
To me, personally, this sounds underhanded and bad. :(
I don't understand how that is not less underhanded than what you're doing now.

It might be dickish and irritating or something along those lines, but there's no way in hell you can call this underhanded.

This shit just follows me like a cape.
That is a mental image I will cherish forever.

I'll be in your heart forever. <3

You will be in mine, too.

I am no longer part of this thread but I'm still watching it for giggles because Pathos is doing what he does best -- derailing and getting everyone riled up.

I honestly don't try to. :(

This shit just follows me like a cape.

So uh...I've never met a place where "banned" means "account deleted, punishment over, go make a new one".

The only acceptable way to challenge a ban is to email the mod/mods, not dodge it.

This is...um.  Well.  It certainly doesn't earn you any respect from me.
Like I said, I tried that. About five times since I've been banned. No reply, not even a "piss off".
Well!  I'd say he answered your question quite succinctly right there.  And since you should have been asking for forgiveness or permission to come back, and they were not given...

It's clearly well within social limits to make a new account and thread on the forums! Thanks, man. :)

Im sorry but.... Pffffffffffffffffffffffff. Sorry, but I get the impression that Pathos isn't that well liked, only known. People get cut off and new people come on. Deal with it. Sure, it is kinda sad if someone nice is banned.. But people who break easy to follow rules are seldom nice.

Are you truly saying there is no such thing as Chaotic Good?!

What are you on about? He was banned for trolling while pretending to be multiple other people.

Like I said, I only went on those sockpuppets when I got banned. :p Otherwise, not at all.

Correction: some people CLAIM he were trolling and having alts. I've seen no evidence for this and it seems unlikely.
This seems to be the case for the majority of people accused of trolling.

People seem to think a "troll" is a "person that disagrees with me".

Like Nikov. I might think everything he says is horsecrap and think he's a crazy for being right-wing, but that doesn't mean he's a troll. He probably thinks the same about my beliefs, but I doubt he thinks I'm a troll. I've still seen people accuse Nikov of being a troll for no reason.

So if you threw me out of a party, for disturbing everyone, and then I go back in and continue doing that, you wont be angry at me?

So, if I threw you out of a book club for disturbing everyone and you came back a year later and said you'd changed, you wouldn't expect me to give you a second chance?

Beat breaking the forum rules by evading ban and wasting even more of Toady 's time by making it ban you again.

There's no other way for me to get fairly unbanned. I figured this would be the easiest and most transparent way to get an unbanning.

Please point me to threads I trolled in or derailed.
Wow.

There's no rule on these forums against being socially awkward and spouting useless drivel, is there? I mean, that's basically an internet past time. :P

Gah! This is getting me really pissed. >:(

This seems to happen every few months around here for some reason. A moderator just snaps and bans an active, well liked forumite for no reason and giving no explanation. It impoverishes the community and leaves a hole that none else can fill, it cuts of people permanently from their friends unless they happened to have been communicating through some other media at the moment, it amputates large swats of their social life and locks them out of their community. It's all around a jerk move that decreases everyone quality of life, for no reason and in extremely unfair ways.

If there is any way you can contact me, please do so atleast *I* can stay in tuch. I'll PM you my skype contact information on the acount that made this topic, but if that shuld not be enoguth please try to contact me ain some other way to get it again or contact info for AIM, IRC, email, etc.

I don't know what to say.

I'm truly touched.

You... Don't understand players. :P

Go read DM of the Rings, Darths and Droids or any other P&P gaming comics. You'll understand the kind of crap you deal with constantly.

As far as I remember half your thread were removed and you kept the weird trolling/derail all the times.
And you were banned after a long time without changing your behavior.

You came back and... surprise, a whining thread about how unjust was our ban and how kind you are for defending toady despite his evidently lacking sense of justice.

Yeah, that'll end well.
If you really wanted to come back, you'd create a quiet account behind a proxy and would share your past identity with the eventual friends you had here, so my opinion is that you're yet again wanting attention.

Please point me to threads I trolled in or derailed.

You're welcome to your opinion.

And are you suggesting I break the forum rules by sockpuppeting? :p

More advice: Don't bother with delving too deeply into something. Players will inevitably do something else and ignore your wonderful city.

If you think you can invent an entire world with amazing attention to detail and nothing will ever go wrong...

They'll invent space travel or go to another dimension.

It's perfectly relevant. It's about collecting a group of players who are focused on the D&D instead of what is going on around them or something completely tangential to the game itself.

I forced friends into it which resulted in a session which was, at best, embarrassing and, at worst, an utter failure of D&D and more just me sitting there in underwear.

So, still got a girlfriend?

Yarr.

She actually got banned off these forums for "trolling", too, after she made her own account and posted a completely serious thread.

Made me laugh.

TMI, dude, TMI.

Roughly: Play with people interested in the game rather than people who are interested in getting their girlfriend naked in public. Don't force friends into it. :p

My first D&D game resulted in us all playing strip D&D with me on the massively losing end. :(
