Look, guys, you're not really hardcoring Dark Souls unless you do it with the horrible keyboard and mouse controls. You're just a filthy casual, and the only DS you should be playing is the one with Pokemon inserted in its port.

Real gamers redo the butterfly boss 300 times and we ENJOY IT.

Her response was: "Wait, You have "Feelings"? I can't believe that you have them?"

Forget what your buddies say about "cute" being a code for lack of interest. This line up here is the evidence you need that not only does she not feel this way about you, she's also a jerk. Going solely on the information you provided, I have to question why you like this chick.

She's not a good person, and you should set your sights elsewhere.

Just came back from playing Toady's game where I prositute teenagers to pay for my political terrorism group to jump on the bandwagon and say Toady probably won't approve of your game about running a porn studio.

I personally hate that different regions pay different amounts, I know it makes sense from a selling point of view and that's how markets work, but it seems kinda annoying really when it's all digital. This especially when they up the cost massively for places like Australia. I always wonder how much of the cut goes back to developers for these price fluctuations or how much just gets swallowed up in conversion taxes and whatever.

In Australia $10 is like half an hour wage, whereas in somewhere like Indonesia, it's like 15 hours wages. Yet the market in Indonesia is 10 times bigger, so they still have the potential to make lots of money by selling a game at $2. But a $2 game in Australia would get less sales, unless it's on a medium where game prices are low (like Google Play).

You've got every right to be annoyed by it, but that's how it is. From a value perspective, the game might give say... an hour of fun to an Indonesian or Australian, and if they paid the same price, it'd still be unfair to the person whose currency is worth less.

Still, it's nice that Steam and Google Play have been driving down prices for a while now. Software pirates selling pirated games in Malaysian shopping malls were abundant 10 years ago when I was a kid. These days, the price for an original game on Steam is about the same price as buying from a shopping mall pirate.

Is that actually how inexpensively they're selling games in Indonesia? Why isn't there a secondary market where people buy a $2 AAA title in Indonesia and sell it to foreigners for $20? They could make a killing!

Deadlock.  Take a look at my signature; I did a screenshot Let's Play of it recently.  It's an old game and it's a bit obscure.

How have you been able to operate Deadlock on modern OSes?

Man, that UFO is bullshit. My girlfriend and I summoned it and it smashed our base, spawncamped us with Penguin-Tanks, and then teleported away for no reason when it was at 1 health bubble.

Apparently Starbound stops being a Terraria-clone right after we get the loot from that thing, but neither of us have any incentive to keep trying after that.

I have to admit to being surprised they pushed it through before January. Now that there's an actual product, I think I'll take some of my leftover cash and get a copy.

Is Ian supposed to do something other than raise plants? Day 3, so far all I've done is grow bananas and request that we not kill the comms officer for laziness.

EDIT: Also shower. I have officially showered more often in this game than I have in real life despite having worked more real hours since I started. I started smelling bad after planting the bananas. Started smelling bad after raising the bananas. Started smelling bad after eating the bananas. Meanwhile, Fiola is looking for bananas for some reason and I can't deliver cause I ate/planted them all. Oops.

Had success against my roommate using a Raichu/Lucario combo. Raichu would slip in while the other four were battling to use Nuzzle. Then, when everybody was paralyzed, Lucario came in to Power-Up Punch. Swept the whole team, it was insane.

I called it the Domestic Dispute Strategy.

I have to counterpoint Neonivek.

There are a ton of RPG systtems out there that are both "gamey" and more versatile than D&D. If you don't know about them, that's a problem with marketing, not a problem with the systems. I agree that tossing FATE around all the time is kind of silly, but D&D AnyE is hardly the be-all end-all of gaming.

Our Vampire LARP (and I think most of them in Canada now, I think) is using a dice-system based on tabletop. Roll 1d10 and add all your dots.

Not sure how effective MET would be for high fantasy, though, what with all the skills like "Computers" and "Firearms" that are effectively phased out.

This is pretty much why I decided not to preorder. Preordering things without a release date just seems like a bad idea to me.

Steve Ballmer just stepped down as CEO of Microsoft. Probably directly related.
