Jupiter Hadley LPed Darkyr: https://youtu.be/1Ir-rhiAbcs?t=15m33s

We're currently working on rebuilding the game almost ground-up. So many ugly solutions happen during 7drl! We're integrating Lua now for entities, and will use Asset Bundles for content. This should allow us to download new content and new versions of content to the player without requiring a patch (as long as we're not introducing new mechanics in our code). It should also allow players to mod the game.

New will also be an Action Queue system, that allow us to stall on trigger mechanics when they trigger, to display more visual queues and be more responsive visually. We are also rewriting a lot of the dungeon generation and encounter logic, to produce better and more consistent results.

Graphics and sound is also getting an overhaul. So a big new release on the horizon :-)

Are you able to get passed the Outpost of the Underdark level? I always die to Hulking Stone Giants there.

Hehe, yes he is. 7DRL week was experimental week at Facepunch, so with some friends we decided to make a roguelike. The results one can achieve in 7 days is of course crude at best. But it was much fun!

Also, another LP:

Hotfix 4 released. This fixes the issue where the game would freeze loading level 5.

Hotfix 3 released. Probably the last hotfix before we turn our attention on a proper next release.

forsaken: So anyone can up their pledge to $250, and partake in the high council meetings until the kickstarter is over then? No money is withdrawn before the kickstarter ends... ;)

Four now in the high council! That's great :)

Yeah, I've really enjoyed watching the progress thus far.

I think everyone putting a penny into this project is aware that it might never go out of beta, or even get to beta, and that's perfectly fine with me. Dwarf Fortress has been a lot of fun, and it's not in beta yet. These types of games have a different approach than the games you pick off the shelves in a store. They're never really finished, it's a constantly evolving project that just keeps expanding. I  bet we'll see simple versions of the systems first, much like how Tarn Adams has approach his ideas in Dwarf Fortress, and then slowly over time see more meat on those bones, and that's the way to do it with these huge complex games. Expand into perfection over time.

It's perfectly fine to be a doubter though, everyone can't be all geared up about this. Keeps it balanced!
