Yes, I had a zone selected. I tried just now with 'q' and same thing.

One thing that might help: When it crashes it prints out in the console 'Target building type: cage'. However if I try to do it on a cage I get: 'No pen/pasture or pit under cursor'

Hi, I'm getting a crash whenever I use 'zone set'. 'zone zinfo' gives correct-looking information including the zone id. 'zone assign etc' doesn't crash, but of course doesn't work because the zone is not set. This happens on all the zones I have tried on my current map.

I am using DF v0.40.24, DFHack  release 0.40.24-r3-Windows

Running on Windows 8

Wondering whether this is a known issue or whether someone knows what might be wrong.

It is possible I am doing something wrong but I don't think so. I hit 'i', select the zone, then type on the console 'zone set' and I get a crash.

I'm going to resurrect this since it's not that old.

I too have found a binary patch that applies a fix I want to use. Actually a couple of them, the ones listed as fixes to this bug: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=1445

However I haven't been able to find any instructions on how to use them, it doesn't seem to be as simple as pasting hex. Would someone who knows point me in the right direction please, alternately does anyone have a binary that already has these applied?

As far as I can tell, kobolds don't have language. They assign names to things, but that's it. There's no grammar, no parts of speech, no way to communicate an idea, other than inventing a word and getting everyone to agree that that word expresses this idea. The rules for how their words are constructed seem to be hard coded.

The slabs are in the stockpile. As I said above I was able to construct the unengraved slabs.

So I've had a pretty busy year and am just getting into the 2012 version of DF.

I had a mason roasted by a fireball and burned up so I'm trying to memorialize him so he doesn't come back to haunt me.

I constructed some slabs in the mason's shop. They are in the stockpile and are constructable so not flagged for hauling or anything like that. I set up the engrave memorial job in the craft shop and it is immediately cancelled because "needs unengraved slab". What gives?

Looks to me like your bottom stop is set to go in the wrong direction.

Anyone figured out how to unload a cart other than by dumping it?

Been a while since I played munchkin, so this may not be quite right but:

Fuck the World Lever: All players who played cards in this encounter die. Equipped gear is discarded instead of looted.
