If you chaps wanted my EU-based server back up (If anyone can remember it) I'll happily have a crack at it if Vactor needs to do some maintenance.

I got told by a person who does repairs for various machines that a Phenom II Series might be better than FX Series 8 Core... true?

The AMD Phenom II range is the best thing to come out of AMD for a long while.  They can give the i5 a run for it's money whilst also being half the price, but I'd strongly recommend going that little bit extra to get four or even six cores on it (So AMD Phenom II x4/x6).

I've always preferred Gigabyte motherboards, but only because they do a brilliant Micro ATX range, and I like to keep my desktops small :P  ASUS are a good brand if this is your first time building a PC.

I don't see it as a city builder because there are designated spots for building stuff (which I personally don't particularly like) and their dungeon system looks really well done with the individual abilities  and micro-managing loot.  I went ahead and bought it anyway because anyone who knows me well will know that's just me :D  and I liked the tutorial (although I spent most of the time just zooming in and watching my plebs walk in and out of buildings) SO HUZZAH

Life Advice / Re: Check over a decent gaming pc setup

From personal experience you are probably going to need a more powerful PSU.  With a 650Ti and AMD FX-6300 you are probably looking at 600/700W To be entirely safe.  I've had two problems in the past with my custom-build and both have been PSU not being powerful enough.  And on the note of running Planetside (heavily CPU intensive game), six-cores should be an ample amount, but my AMD Phenom II 4x (Don't really follow AMD so I don't know whether FXs are better/worse whatever) can't even run it on low without lagging.

YARR HARR YE SCALLYWAGS OF BAY12,
I come seeking advice from the best.  I'm considering buying the new indie title 'Folk Tale' in it's Early Release thingy-ma-bob on Steam, so I was wondering if anyone had any of their OWN dangerous opinions to voice and risk being shot down in flames.  Now if this post has already been made and the Search I did turned up faulty, someone please direct me in the right direction and launch this OP into the next Oblivion.  If, however, BY SOME LUCKY STARS, a Folk Tale thread has not been started, consider this also a discussion topic and enjoy.

Other Games / Capsized Steam key!
« on: May 31, 2013, 03:46:13 pm »
HI HO HUM BAY12ERS!

Once again the great gods of Steam has blesséd me with a key for a game.  This time it's Capsized: an exciting 2d scroller game where you shoot and bash up monsters.  You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll be dragged into the incredible storyline that underlines this beautiful indie title (seriously, they should hire me for PR).

*UPDATE!*  A friendly external donator has lent his key to the cause, ramping the total potential winners up to A MIND BLOWING TWO!

Rules are simple:  anyone can enter as long as you're a baywatcher and say something like: "Pick me!"  The lucky winner will be announced on Sunday 2nd of June at 12:01 PM GMT time.

Well, the results are in, and I'm gald to announce the two lucky winners are: FUZZWADDLE AND TEOLEO!  CONGRATULATIONS YOU LUCKY BUGGERS!!!
If you could send me a PM so I know you're active I'll throw you the keys back

Thank you to everyone who participated and my heart goes out to the unfortunates who didn't quite get randomly picked - BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME EH?!

    Vespulan.

Thanks for the reply. Is there something on Steam I need to do to collect the voucher? Or have I poor assumption? :D

Send a PM thingy on Bay12 to Mistercheif and ask for his Steam details, then you can add him on Steam and he'll trade it with you.  HAVE FUN!

I'm gonna take my server down for today but Glloyd, if you want when you're done with that map I can use it on mine?  I'll be home around 16:30 GMT so if the server needs to be used again, you'll have to wait 'til then :P

I'm gonna leave my Server running overnight and check on it in the morning.  Hopefully Vactor's will have been fixed by then.  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Can I suggest we just leave it?  Getting into a DDoS war would just be petty, and probably end up in tim32 being blown apart by a stray bullet.

Right guys, you will all be enthralled to know I've just got an alternative auxiliary server up and running.  Are the other servers working yet?
