This is just an idea, and it's probably been done before, but what if body parts/corpses were dropped from a great height (Like 20 z-levels) onto the heads of intruders during a raid? I have yet to experiment with this, but I think it would be very effective.

Ok, so I'm trying to see if I could make a fort in an area with salt water, and I was wondering something. Could migrants, caravans, or sieges come if your fort is surrounded with water?

So, I'm planning to arrange an unfortunate accident involving a spike pit, but after one attempt the dwarf survived. He is now resting while I'm trying to figure out a way to get him to the retractable bridge that goes over the pit. I tried using a burrow, but then I realized burrows don't work like that (I think).
Does anyone know how I can get him there?

The best artifact I've ever had in terms of usefulness is Lenshamaral Becor Gelut, "Denwoman the Temptation of Threats", a black bronze greaves.

The most valuble one (Worth 48,000) is Ikor Rithar, "The Warrior of Trammels", a perfect amethyst.

I'm trying to make a pit trap for a certain dwarf, but I'm not exactly sure how. I'm digging a channel at the moment, but I don't want the miner dwarves to accidentally get themselves stuck there. Also, how do I actually drop him?

So I've been trying to make a new race playable both in adventure mode and fortress mode, and it seems to work smoothly as an adventurer but I can't get it to work as a fortress. When I'm on the choosing-location part, I'm not quite sure how to choose the civilization/race.
