Tombs can be designated from a coffin (or casket or sarcophagus), and can then be assigned to specific dwarves. This is mostly if you want to ensure where each dwarf gets buried and to make them happier - A dwarf gets a yearly happiness bonus if they have a personal tomb.
several storeys 5 squares wide, then several more storeys 7 squares wide.
While building walls around the upper part, I found that I couldn't build walls in the corners - another illustration: http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7521/tempsu5.jpg
On storey 7, the corners can't be built because there's no foot access to them. So in the red dot, I built a floor instead of a wall, allowing foot access to that corner. Built the wall in the corner, then UNbuilt the floor on the red dot so that I could replace it with a wall, and fell to the ground, because there was nothing underneath it on storey 6. Much bleeding thereafter.
I tried building stairs all the way up to the red dot from underneath, and tried again, and my dwarf fell AGAIN, this time down 6 flights of stairs. Why didn't the stairs catch him? How can I build walls around all of storey 7 without injuring my dwarves?
