I've been dubbed a Champion by the people today! After training diligently day after day, month after month. I have attained a level of skill that only Jorhind has achieved! Now to start training with Swords. You can never be too safe I say.

A possessed Dwarf accomplished a feat today. I didn't even know there was a possessed dwarf floating around here. Anyways he created Stukondodok, a Cedar Floodgate. It's encircled with bands of Elk Leather. Menaces with spikes of Cedar and Pine; And it has an image of us dwarfs in Glumprong. It values in at 7200. It's not really all that grand, but I suppose it could sell for a pretty penny.

Zok Mengar "Lashflesh", Siege Operator
'Zok' Mengar has been ecstatic lately. He slept in a very good bedroom recently. He has complained of thirst lately. He admired a splendid Siege Engine lately. He was disgusted by miasma lately. He has complained of the lack of dining tables lately. He admired own fine Bed lately. He admired a very tastefully arranged Trap lately. He has been satisfied at work lately.
---
He is a Worshipper of Othsal. (Othsal is the Goddess of Torture, Misery, and Coasts. She takes the form of a Female Dwarf.)
---
He is a citizen of The Unbridled Galey. He is a member of The Deified Spears.
---
'Zok' Mengar likes Calcareous ooze, Gold, Yellow spessartine, coral, Rope reed Fabric, the color aqua, battle axes, shields, and mountain goats for their surefootedness. When possible, he prefers to consume Dwarven rum.
---
OOC: Zok has no friends persay. Everyone in the Fort is just a passing acquaintance. So if you die, we won't have to worry about people getting upset :P
---
He is confident under pressure. He is relaxed. He is candid and sincere in dealings with others. He is immodest. He is occasionally given to procrastination. He often does the first thing that comes to mind. He needs alcohol to get through the working day. He does not mind being outdoors, at least for a time.

Istrian approached me. He asked as a Senior member of the Guard that he take command of the Fortress Guard. I, knowing this already, decided that it would be for the best. I told him the spot was his, as he turned to go however I told him to wait. Thats when I presented him a Iron Short Sword. He was to be the first Swordsdwarf of the Fort as well. As well, an immigration wave has come. The numbers are as follows:
1xFurnace Operator
1xAnimal Trainer
1xFisherdwarf
1xWeaponsmith
1xMiner
1xBowyer
1xPeasant

Accounting all previous deaths and these new additions. Our population rests at 69.

After somehow losing the anvils after the Goblin assault, we finally have an Anvil! We can finally start making armor and weapons for our troops! Our siege operator walked up today and introduced himself as Zok. He's been trying to learn Vag's way of Siege Engineering. I told him of the masterpiece catapult parts, he said that he will be training himself up to make a Ballista of Epic Quality. I haven't told him that before Vag died, she created Masterpiece Ballista pieces...

Great success! All dwarfs have calmed down, and the fort is moving on. In honor of Vag, I've started construction on a grand mausoleum along with a central park within the walls. In due time I'll make a much larger park in honor of her sacrifice.
---
OOC: Her original Catapult stands in the same place, and I refuse to destroy it. I also saved three of her Masterpiece catapult pieces and will build the Catapult above the Southern Main Entrance.

There's several dwarfs tantruming as I write this. I fear for the other dwarfs, one of the tantruming dwarfs already killed a fellow dwarf. Granted that dwarf will get arrested...then most likely tantrum again. The mayor and the guards are trying to calm them down with the best of their abilities, let's hope this spiral ends.

Out of Character Ambush Explanation:
Righto, To explain what went down. First off, the caravans arrived. Yay! They had several anvils, I was psyched. Things were looking up. Everyone was doing their thing. Lem was just released from prison. She was working on the road south of the fort. Rice was engraving, I was sparring, along with Jorhind, Skadi, and Vag. Valcon was drinking, heavily. When all of a sudden, BAM, there's an ambush party about 5 squares away from Lem. Arrows were flying so quickly, when the game paused to tell me of the ambush I could count 4 arrows already in transit. I thought to myself. "Well, there goes Lem." WRONG, how wrong I was. Lem dashed towards the entrance to the Fort. Arrows flew at her. She dodged left, right, left again. Right into the Fort. I swear she dodged about 4-5 volleys. Then, the gobbies get to the main gate. The Humans rush them, only to get pushed back by arrow fire. They get two down, the pikeman and an archer. A few stray arrows fly off, one clips Grukol in the leg. Quite a few find their marks in Dwarfs of no name. I see that I'm having problems. So I retreat back to the fort, and I place my remaining military dwarfs around the entrance. As the humans injure a few more, I see weakness in the ranks and send out my troops. Grukol has some how already healed, and is out in a moment. Followed closely by Vag. Jorhind is trailing behind with Skadi in tow. The Western Ambush happens just then. As Grukol and Vag leave the new front gate. Jorhind and Skadi clean up the remains of the Goblins that ended up under Lem's traps. Grukol and Vag are wiping up the rest of the fleeing goblins, when the goblin turns and fires. Hits Vag right in the chest, skewering both her lungs and her heart. She dies almost instantly. Then Grukol runs in, must have used every inch of his fiber and slams the Goblin with his spear. The thing goes flying southbound, hits a tree and pretty much explodes. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...
But seriously, it was pretty fun to watch. Vag was cleaving pieces off the injured Gobbies. Poor Vag...it makes me sad  :(

Grukol's Journal
We weren't prepared yet for a fight of that magnitude. As we engaged the Ambush party of Crossbows, we were set upon by another group of Goblins to the West. Most of the traps took care of the Western group, but a few got through and they countered. All of the Human guards are dead. We lost a Marksdwarf, a Wrestler and one of the Guardsmen. Most importantly we lost Vag. She and I were giving chase to the fleeing injured Goblins. We slew Three of them, before coming on the last one. As Vag drew back her Axe, she left her chest open. The goblin took one shot, and pierced both of her lungs. She collapsed to the ground, wheezing and coughing blood. She died shortly after. I brought my spear down on its head, crushing its skull. Then I rammed my spear into his chest so hard he flew back several feet and died a most gruesome death. During all this a Dwarf went Fey, and created Ibeshmerrang Zutshoshonrel, a mudstone ring. This translates into:
Roastedlanguish the Bewildering Exit. Its encircled with Mudstone, Moss agate, and Pine. Adorned with rings of Mudstone, and there are three images. One of a Fly, another of our brothers working and lastly, just a random dwarf I've never seen nor heard of. Later on he told me it was his mum.
----
OOC: Unfortunately I can't save scum. So would you like another dwarf? It kinda angers me that she died, she was a Legendary Siege Operator/Engineer. *sigh*

The dwarfs meet the human caravan topside, the engage in handshakes and greetings.
"Ah, I see you brought Anvils!" Grukol's smile cracked his harden face.
"Yes, we remembered our agreement! Thought you might like it!" the merchant returned his smile. But then, an alarm rang out.
"GOBLIN AMBUSH! ALL DWARFS INSIDE!" one of the guards yelled out.
"Four Goblin Crossbows and a Pikeman! Grab yer shields!"
"TO ARMS! TO ARMS!"
The Human guards were already set for the fight, the dwarfs scrambled into position. A skirmish was about to start.

OOC: Those two larger rooms on the left, are those just bigger cells? or just office space? I figured that first larger room on the bottom (left) would be office space to keep watch of what goes in and out.

Today is the last day of Vag's prison sentence. She took a step outside her cell, stretched and went straight to work, felling trees. I spoke to her, she said she did alot of thinking inside her cell and had alot of plans she wanted to show me later. I admire her spirit.

The guard stopped before the door of the Mason's Workshop. He gently raps on the door.
"Lem Adoddom! Open the door!"
Lem opens the door up, and looks the guard over.
"What is it! Can't you see I'm busy!"
"On Orders of the Mayor, You are under arrest for the Violation of a Production Order! You are sentenced to 26 days in Prison." the  nameless guard stood silent after that, staring directly ahead."
Lem blinked, confused as to why she was being punished for something that could not have been completed anyways.
"Thats ridiculous! We dont even have Trifle Pewter! or the means to even make it!"
"That's none of my concern, you are to follow me immediately." He grabs her by the arm, and forces her out of the room. As they walk to the prison, they run into Valcon.
"What's the meaning of this!?" Valcon grabs the guard by the tunic.
"Why is she being dragged out like this!? What are you doing with my love!"
He shakes the guard violently. He slaps Valcon's hand away.
"She knows what she is accused and sentenced to, be away with you or you shall be charged with interfering with Dwarven Justice!"
The guard marches past Valcon, still cursing and yelling at him.
---
The cell door slams shut. She sighs to herself.
"I pretty much saved our whole lumber team from that ambush. Look at the thanks I get!" she sits down on the bed, and listens to Vag's whistling from the next cell over.

More Immigrants have arrived. This one was lead by a dwarf wearing very pleasant looking clothes. From what she told me, she was a Dungeon Master. The rest of the immigration wave is as follows:
---
1x Dungeon Master
1x Cook
1x Craftsdwarf
1x Soaper
1x Animal Dissector
1x Fishery Worker
1x Carpenter
1x Siege Operator
1x Wood Cutter
1x Fisherdwarf
1x Leatherworker
1x Milker
1x Brewer
2x Peasant
1x Stonecrafter
1x Weaver
1x Potash Maker
---
We're now up to 72 dwarfs. I feel alot of these dwarfs will be going into the military, or the guard.

I'm always open for suggestion.
The Jail now is just north of the Western Archery range. Its just Eight 2x3 rooms with rope and a rope. I feel the general design is a complete and utter mess, I'll be trying to clean it all up eventually. I thank Toady everyday for walls, it makes reorganizing things so much easier

Vag has turned herself in. Upon admitting that she too had injured the Mayor a long time ago. She sentenced herself to 50 days in prison. I must admit that was a pretty honorable thing to do. But I can't say that I would do that to myself.

Lem's cackling can be heard from Top side.
"Four of em! Mark it! Four Goblins!" Lem danced as she watched her Traps go off.
"Look at that! GENIUS I SAY!" she grins wildly as Stone spring from their places and plummet on top of the Goblins.
"What in the... What is going on out here!" Grukol came, marching out of the Fort.
"What is all this ruckus about..."
He looks out the Western doors. Seeing nothing but carnage. Peasants flee past him, words float by "Ambush", "Goblins", and "Spears".
He walks over to the mess that Lem had created with her traps. He starts the clean up of the ones that only suffered minor wounds.
---
OOC: My first ambush on this fort. And it was sprung, right underneath all of Lem's traps. Four died instantly, 4 were left injured, fading in and out of consciousness. One managed to poke one of my farmer. Who walked just north of the trap, causing the goblin to run into another trap and die. I sent Grukol out to get more experience, he cleaned up the 3 that were just kinda sprawled out along the moats edge.
