DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: I just atom smashed 30 children

I kill children with menacing spike trap, that way I get to reuse the clothing. If they somehow make it through two lever pulls I can train my docs on them.

Thank you, it worked indeed!
Finally a house that doesn't collapse with me inside, smashing my guts "beyond recognition"! :P

Hello!

I've read some comments in here and one of them stated that in order to make my constructions persistent, I should use dfusion and create a player fort. However, the only types of sites Dfusion's tool lets me create are: ruins, lairs, hamlets, human fortresses, camps and tombs, no dwarven settlements available. How do I create a player fort?
Sorry if this was already answered somewhere here, but my search showed nothing of use.

Thanks in advance!

DF Community Games & Stories / Re: Necromancer Succession Fort

Let's just use cages for now. They work just as well as metal weapons and do not involve risk. We need goblinite anyway, if we want our metal industry to prosper. :P
Luckily, the caged goblin bug has been fixed so we may safely dispose them in death chamber.

I was going to suggest this anyway.
Wonder what was the reason for current HQ to go corrupt. It'd be sad if this repeated.

From my research The Violent Anvil is completely playable, same goes for the Charm of Trading.
However, I get Nemesis Unit fail when trying to start an adventurer from the Past Guilds, starting in Deification of Fishes.
This only applies to the headquarters, a worldgen fort loads fine and allows for adventurer creation.

We shall see.
The defense of my fortress doesn't allow for any threat, unless I am invaded while retired.

Adamantium coins, worth 6db each!  With how impervious and lightweight adamantium is, we may have a contender for caravan currency here too!  Awesome!

Seems I am not the only one browsing the legends mode.  8)
I only have tetrahedrite in my fortress, and I dug to adamantine before finding it, so I figured I might just as well dig all adamantine that is safe (not the ores encircling the black unknown space that is about of the same shape across a few z levels).

9
Alright then, here's my save.
Site's wealth is 26200 (8200 in rings and 18000 in coins).

10
I choose option #3: Unretiring an embark (HQ) and playing for a season.
I'll update when I finish.
When I start playing on 1st slate (2nd month), do I play for a full season (till 2nd month of summer) or until the next season (1st month of summer)?

11
So now we only do one action in a turn?
EDIT: How about we (try to) apply something like gold standard system?
The currency (coins) would be worth only as much as the goods (or just rings) that you keep in your safe? That would allow for complex calculations like "How many coins do I want to emit? How much do I want my coins to be worth?" etc.
That'd also implement inflation and exchange rate calculations, which might either be good or bad, depending on what one likes.

I wanted to clarify if exploiting game mechanics like melting items for metal income is banned here.
I am asking because I've recently read that it allows for smelting coins with 5000% efficiency (50 bars from one bar used to make the stack of coins), and this could possibly impact our wealth competition.

13
Look for a rock, then sharpen it.

14
I thought I'd edited them to just not arrive but I guess that was a fail.
Maybe the first caravan is hardcoded, no matter what you do?
My wealth in rings is 8200.

15
No blood-thirsty goblins? Isn't it too safe?  :-\
EDIT:
The world has been re-generated to block any non-player caravans.
A caravan from my civ arrived to my fort. Is that intended? In case it wasn't, I ignored them completely and let them leave with what they brought.
EDIT2: I've completed my turn. The embark's name is Steelwalled. Which wealth should I post?
Save is here.
