Post offices were pretty much important until very recently.

Other uses:
* Scholars might communicate together
* Clerics would communicate with believers
* Traders might communicate together
* Diplomats would negociate with rulers

Today, like I did the previous year and the preceding since 2013, I would like to ask you what you will do for Christmas.

As for me, I plan to stay home with my sibilings and our friends.

We could reuse the code for forgotten beasts to generate plants.

Might be interesting to see additional crops, plants and trees being generated: there would be more randomness to worlds, especially if, for exemple, a very high yield crop is able to live in Arctic regions.

I think it should depend on the Decorum, with more stratified and formal societies having plenty forms of salutations.

More variety in dyes is a good idea, especially after fashion is made even deeper. Religion, class, administration, decorum, etc.. all need more detailled clothing.

In an old mod I made, I added several dyes and plans to add further ones once I know how to add materials and will get enough motivation to update this mod and add animal-sourced materials.

The Subterranean Water, Subterranean Chasm and Subterranean Magma biomes already exist.

I would say that, depending from the size and the wealth of the site, the more it's looted, the more likely it's razed. A village might only take one looting byt a sprawling metropolis might suffer 10 before the question even is asked.

Could we see this play on larger groups?

For exemple, fortreses near the sea might worship sea deities, major marketplaces might worship trade deities while militaries might worship war deities.

Another exemple: if droughts strike then farming settlemnt might pray at rain gods. Families wanting children might pray at deities of pregnancy.

It could mesh well with the justice system: "everyone who catch and then bring alive this robber/pirate/traitor will receive ¤10000." Indeed, adventurers could earn their keep with this.

We could see the wealthier settlements, realms and other organizations such as families, trade groups, guilds and temples hacing chroniclers recording events which occured to them, along with biographers for famous persons and items.

We could even simulate Dark Ages: just imagine the archives of a civilizations having been mostly destroyed through warfare, fire or floods, or biaised recordings.

Mercury would see uses in medicine (it was used as a miracle cure for pretty much everything), jewelery and gold refining.

Indeed, the idea could be developped, with rural households having farmplots and urban ones having shops or workshops.
