If you averaged their strengths, you'd get a much weaker weapon, it's work for the names, assuming you kept the metal's properties, but the weight would still be off

Which I suppose you could remedy with a reduced weight

Cutting out your vampire's lungs to avoid bleeding

Everyone knows you have to stab a vampire with a wooden spike through the heart to truly kill it, so...

Cutting out you vampire's heart so you'd be immortal!

Also, vampire's cut-out heart could act a bit like lich's phylactery - you shall rise from your ashes as long as your heart is secure in the deep pits of heavily trapped Tomb of Horrors.
Give me a minute, I need to build an overly-complex impenetrable heart storage facility in fortress mode, then find it with my adventurer, store my organs there, and go get stabbed to my heart's conte... oh wait

Thirsty? Cut yourself and drink the blood.
Starving? Cut off an arm and eat it.
Want to sleep but the boogiemen making too much noise? Strangle yourself unconscious.
Wimpy baby man? Hurt yourself to gain toughness.
Need place to store arrows? Stab them through your ears.
Can't stand? Stab yourself in the gut and lift yourself up with the weapon.
Infection? Amputate.
Want cool scars but don't want to risk your life in battle? Slash yourself with a silver weapon.
Want to run faster? Cut off all that superfluous body weight.
Want to give yourself a combat advantage by removing all pain? Slash your sensory nerves.
Want throwing weapons? Knock out your teeth.
Want to learn medical skills? Injure yourself then heal yourself.
Want to suicide? Cool.

Those are all the possible uses I can think of. It should be easy to program too.
"Now, to cut the sensory nerves to my arm aaand"
A motor nerve has been severed

Cutting out your vampire's lungs to avoid bleeding
Or more generally, removing useless organs

This could help if you had a limb with no motor nerve and if infection became a serious issue in adventure mode

I like the idea of airflow, I don't like the idea of having to wait until 2050 for a computer capable of running my fort at >10 FPS

Weapon headstrikes do sometimes only shatter the skull, about 1/20 or so. Lucky, but not extraordinary.

Then again I play with a modded thicker skull, but if I recall the shatter rate isn't disimilar

I'd just like the ability to reattach my limbs (and head/lower body), since I can already raise them, what's a little stitching? (on a side note, inexperienced necromancer + attaching zombie arm to self = permanently OPPOSED_TO_LIFE arm?:"excuse me arm I'm trying to buy stuff here, stop strangling him" "YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH BADGES TO TRAIN ME")

That's what they all say

...I've never heard about weight affecting slashes...
It has a difference between a court sword and the greatsword, and pretty much difference in weight.
I'm talking about in dwarf fortress, obviously a big heavy thing with a sharp edge is going to do more damage than a light thing with the same edge

Surface dragons don't, but cave dragons do.  It should be the reversed, imho.
According to the description of cave dragons they still have wings, but not very useful ones

It's pretty well documented that if a slashing weapon fails to pierce armour it delivers a blunt attack instead, but I've never heard about weight affecting slashes, and it's certainly not a significant amount, since adamantine outperforms steel pretty much every time

Do dragons actually have wing body parts? I thought they were just quadrupeds?

I'm fairly certain that welcoming parties only spawn when you punch into a hollow tube; in theory, at least, that's the only way you're supposed to get down there anyway.
Digging through a whole filled tube takes you there as well, it's just hollow tubes are more !!FUN!!

Now we wait for ☼<<☼<<☼ steel sword ☼>>☼>>☼, because obviously edges need a quality modifier.
