"Hmm? Oh, ha, no, though I can see how you would think it. No, we've both got the same parents. Just... We didn't exactly grow up in a happy family. My mom left not long after Arnett was born. She left us with our father and returned home. To York. Our father did his best but...
"Huh. Can't even imagine... That's a lot of family. I've just got Arnett, really. I mean... There's my mother but, well, she and I don't really get along all that well. Think I remind her too much of my dad. Well, that and I was always getting in trouble growing up. But at least a chunk of that was to try and protect Arnett, so I don't exactly regret it. Still, no surprise my mom was glad to send me here. No need to worry about kids from her old marriage anymore, maybe now she'll finally have a chance to move forward."
"Ah, maybe. Or maybe she was just being polite. Who knows... Hmmm, well, could you tell me a bit more about your family? I mean, you've mentioned that you have lots of siblings and all that, but never much about what it was like to grow up with them, live where you lived, all that. I guess... what was your childhood like? Is that a reasonable question to ask? Ha..."
"Oh, well, you know. The fight between classes was a bit rough and then... Well... Ah, whatever. I just got my butt handed to me by Dora in the training room. Didn't even manage to land a blow before she had me down and out. Bit embarrassing really. She said I had good instincts and all but I don't really see how when I walked into her spear."
"Ha. Hahaha, yeah that's about right. No room to move in the room here means I get absolutely obliterated. If I can't kite you, I have no chance, huh? Ah well..."
"Not about to so much as just finished. And sparring is a generous term for the way I got my butt kicked."
"Ah, er, Rika, uhm. I didn't expect to find you, err, anyone here. D-do you mind if I join you? I wouldn't want to impose..."
"Well then, no time like the present. I suppose I'll be a good warm up for you."
"Mmm, I think I need to learn when to stay quiet still. Especially with my brother, if I'm being honest."
"As for why I'm here, I owe you something. Specifically, a match. Ours during the mock battle got cut short by... unforeseen circumstances, obviously, so I'm here for the rematch. I know how it's likely to end, especially after that showing you just gave, but what you faced earlier wasn't what I wanted to give. So I figured lets try this for real this time."
"You've got really good instincts, Katarina. But you need to be careful when engaging someone with such greater range than you. That move might work better against someone who isn't as good at fighting as Theodora here, but unless you're certain of their skill, you have to be assuming they're better than her."
"Ah, sorry. You don't need my input. You wouldn't have made it this far if you didn't already know it. I'm just used to lecturing my brother on fighting, sorry about that."
