I for one liked that escaped lunny status and would have liked to keep it longer. But seriously, if threads like these are problem then we should make dedicated Introductions thread and sticky it.

YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM GOOGLE
No, but Ghostery, BetterPrivacy and some toying around in browser settings and about:config to prevent firefox from sending copy of every crash report to them will help a lot.

*puts on tinfoil hat*
...now Google can't find me.

I don't often give you guys advice, but are you certain it's wise to tell the thousands year old wizard who:

1) Is a biological hobbyist who clones people for fun and profit, thinks corprus is really cool and hesitates to call it a disease, and has as an entire basement full of horribly bodily-mangled half-insane monstrosities who can't die of old age...because that's his hobby.
2) At least in vanilla, imprisons even Redoran nobility in his dungeon and then forgets about them with impunity.
3) Cares so little for your dignity that the first thing he did on meeting you was ask you to disrobe, without explanation, so that he could examine you.
4) Subsequently then told you with a straight face that  "your discomfort was a price he was willing to pay"
5) Has outright stated that one of the reasons he wants you to go through the corprusarium is that you might die, resulting in him getting what he wants without having to pay for it.

...does it seem like a good idea to any of you to tell this person that if you die, the world resets and nothing bad happens?

Does anyone think that's a good idea?
I see no way how this could go wrong.
...okay, let's not tell him.

I still stand by my other suggestions. Not showing the phone to Yagrum would be wasting once in a life time opportunity. But do that only if we can secure way back up first.

Apparently the Russian government can't do anything about Ukraine besides publishing strongly-worded proclamations.
Russia decides to  pretend it is EU?
Damn you, you stole my line!

Also, protestors are doing some carpentering on their free time:

They'd probably be classified as something else. Interactive fiction or adventure games, usually.
Or simulation games. Even if they had stat system. It seems only action games can be considered RPGs in mainstream reviews. My guess is that in next generation of games anything with stats will be labeled RPG...

Tell him the world you come from have no magic.
...
Then explain that this have helped create the phone without the use of magic and the phone itself also can perfom mathematics. Show him its calculator function.
Start with this, continue with explaining how it's charged, show him the battery that provides energy for it.
Don't brag about our math skills, but mention that Mages guild was impressed when someone without any skill in magic could solve their equations.

Agree to sell it to Fyr, but ask if we could show it to Yagrum first and talk with him about it. And ask about getting past that argonian down there and getting back to him.

Maybe tell Divayth about the whole world reset thing that happens when you die?
Also this. Mention that our roommate Caius important and knowledgeable in dragon-lore person thought they were dragon breaks.

Only problem with ebbor's plan is that having power line in the middle of the road is bitch to repair, you have to close down whole road. Putting cable line next to smaller road meant for maintenance of it and the main road would work better. With that change +1.

Is this ale, vomit, blood, or just tears soaking my beard?
Sig worthy.

1014
Right, you said that earlier...

Then 7 for cryobay repairs and 6 for Ore Processor construction.

I think if we're going to mine for ore we should put those holes into use, build some early structures there in relative shelter, just in case planet has surprises waiting for us.

1015
Start with using Construction action to set up Ore Processor so we have it up and running when stuff we dig from underground starts to roll in. Second one next turn should be assembling Sludge Processor so we can feed larger awake crew, then housing so they have place to sleep in when we defrost them.
Use Mining action to dig for underground housing/storage rooms, check if ground contains any ore.
Use Production or Repair action to fix cryobay.

That would take 8 manpower, 13 left... can we split them 5/4/4 between those projects?

64 VIP flights scheduled to leave Ukraine today, stores are emptied when people are hoarding food, right wingers are arming protestors with guns and live ammo...
Nothing about fighting yet.

OK, so you're saying something like, if you have the option of doing everything then you'll tend to do that, and every character will end up the same? I'd agree with that. Although generally he becomes "jack of all trades, master of none"
Something like that, yes. Generic do-it-all characters remind me of Final Fantasy series, where you run from one cut-scene to another cutting down mobs in between. That kind of system offers hardly much in the way of role play, since it's more like unfolding prewritten story. Especially if games make no difference whether you specialise in something or are jack-of-all-trades, the challenges you are presented remain the same with the same solution to them no matter what kind of character you play as. A lot of games sold as RPGs do that these days *cough*TES*cough*. Lvl 19 fighter and lvl 19 wizard have completely different ways in how they can deal with problems they face, but if game doesn't offer chance for that it downplays the importance of all the choices player has made in developing their character.

Even if it's not mechanical leveling and progression, there's gotta be something, or you're gonna have trouble convincing people you belong in the RPG genre, as far as I can tell. Counter-examples welcome.
This got me thinking and I believe that kaenneth gave you the answer already.
I would say a 'true' RPG is where your choices in personal interactions with NPC's affect the game more than your choices in character stats/gear.

Where you can play a 'Character' instead of a collection of numbers.
I can imagine a game where there is no leveling or stats, where instead of fighting your way across the map like in action games you use dialogue to interact with NPCs in the setting, trying to accomplish game's goals, whatever they may be. Game of political intrigue, where instead of skill checks to see if you succeed it'll be about earlier dialogue and choices you've made to convince, bribe, deceive or threaten NPCs to do something. Or crossing into business simulation territory and play as trader managing your own shop, ship, caravan, stall or just selling random junk door to door. Neither of them rule out combat, but it would need serious overhaul from the number cruching way it's done in most games these days.
It might be lot easier to do games like those with progressing stats, but I think you could call them RPGs even without stats, assuming player interaction with the world is done well.

This wasn't about bullying as much as it was about having a breakdown.
This right here.

Cmega, you really should take some time to unwind and get some of that steam out of your system. If you keep pushing it while constantly stressed it will be bad for you, not only will you get sick easily due stress and have to take days off like you did there (and that causes more stress), but your body won't recover as easily from it. And that's gonna cause even more stress for you. It's a slippery slope for quick burnout, and that's not fun to have.

Greece is a slave state of Germany...
Damn it Merkel, last time you Germans convinced us to follow you our government was at least smart enough to stop at the old border and not go for Stalingrad, no matter what Hitler promised. Now we're going all out with this financial expedition and we get nothing from your slave state? Not a single mediterranean island, or at least few sunny beaches? It's dark and cold in here, and the company sucks!
Never trust the Germans...

By the way:
Gentlemen, I now adress to those of you who live outside the former Soviet Union. I want to ask if you have Maidan reports in your mass media (radio, TV, newspapers) or you get it via internet only. Because in Russia journalists say that a lot of europeans and americans keep calling Euromaidan a peaceful protest because they simply do not know what is actually going on right now.
Plenty, YLE (Finnish state news agency) has had constant insanely politically correct and neutral coverage since the beginning, and others put up at least small snippets between all that olympic coverage. Olettekomuutenhuomanneet (trans:haveyounoticed) has been following few Finnish reporters in Ukraine tweeting about the violence and protestors opinions and actions (including using molotovs cocktails, stoning polices, getting shot by polices and burning of vehicles and buildings) since 16th of january. Plenty of other media groups (like ESS) have frequent updates about how things have escalated and what's happening right now (as far as they can tell). Links are in Finnish.

Also the armbands make the wearer an easier targer. It would be just silly to wear them for police officers who know that protesters have weapons, but it makes a lot of sense if they are worn by provocateurs to recognize allies at distance, since they aren`t going to fight anyone who is armed.
It's common military practice to have visible sign to separate any special detachments from your regular troops if they operate together with civilians in the area, I don't doubt that police wouldn't use it as well. Also, I don't buy your shoe explanation either. As far as I can tell they look like regular boots in other pics.

I'm just watching a special report on German TV. Their correspondent in Kiev said, they had heard rumors that the guys with the yellow stripes are a special force called Omega units, who are directly responsible to the president and have been seen near the presidential seat.
As I understand it the yellow stripes cover up the normal unit tags. Correspondents have filmed these guys and seen them with the police force, but what exactly they are is not verified.
This would suggest that they are cooperating with regular police, even if they have separate command structure.

Thanks, saved me the trouble of digging it up. I'd like to see what news in our beloved eastern neighbour are like, but unfortunately I don't speak russia.

Maybe you are just... really bad at communicating.
This. Wrong language (if you couldn't tell from bad grammar and spelling), too little sleep and not enough coffee.

The fixed aspects part was refering to D&D style of classes where you are stuck in a certain role, like mage not being able to learn major melee skills and fighter not becoming master mage, and developping your character from that starting point as the game goes on (focusing on summons or nuking, berserker or tank etc.), not character being unable to develop ever again after that point. Things like that are what I think makes RPGs, you're not just getting every skill, spell, quest and special item on one do-it-all character.

I'll shut up now and get some sleep.
