I'm given to understand that if you play with Requiem it's probably easier to just not use most other mods. It'd not the most inter-compatible, even as overhauls go.
Easier, yes. But also boring. I can't imagine playing without Open Cities, Frostfall, RND and several others.

Requiem is nice and all and I like the idea behind it, but some mods are Must Have for me, I can't play the game without them. It's just the patching of them that's lot of work to do.

Doing the dragon statue quest with my army full of custom designed "Dragon Slayer" units to level them up before the grand finale, took detour north to kill Vetrar while at it, my champion Craul Gravehands hits level 19 and can easily solo enemy armies (not really that hard because stupid AI) and scores "Deadly" threat rating alone. His army got "Epic" when I first assembled it and has only gotten stronger since then, weakest units were level 8. I reach the final statue and trade some gear between my sovereign and Craul and move on the statue to start the fight...
...and notice that instead of Craul and his Dragon Slayers I had  moved my sovereign, who only had two groups of (mostly) ceremonial bodyguards with him. Against three dragons, Clambercoil, Fell and Ashwake.

Fuck.

Fear and Contagion spells hit all my units and I lose action for first turn, second is repeat of the first and I'm taking damage each turn from contagion. I manage to avoid melee for few more turns because mounted units fuck yeah, but I know that my guards don't stand a chance against three dragons at once and that my sovereign would be OHK, and then the Ashwake, strongest of the dragons, starts casting something.

That was where I won the game.

See, my sovereign was Magnar of the Quendar and I had made him into a dedicated mage, glass cannon to the extreme, and that overgrown worm tried to start magic duel with him. Thing with magic is that most powerfull spells take two turns to cast, and you can easily prevent enemy from casting anything with a counterspell, assuming you have two of them since they can't be casted twice in a row. And I did, Feedback even does damage to target based on number of fire shards (of which I had many), and it was casted by high level mage with several traits that improve damage from spells. Silly little worm.
So while Ashwake was stubbornly trying to cast it's spell and taking damage every second turn, I maneuvered two other dragons into positions. Dragons got this thing where they try to breath flames turn before closing in on melee, so all I had to do was flank them and attack from the side, take the hit from one dragon while other was spitting fire and get out. Rinse and repeat. Magnar casted spell every now and then to help when he had spare time (high initiative FTW). I mentioned how my bodyguards were mostly intended to be ceremonial before, well, part of their ceremonial gear was dragon hide cloak which gives +50% fire resistance. And they were Quendar, that's another +50% fire res. there.
After I got that Ashwake to stay still rest of the fight pretty much won itself for me. I didn't even lose either guard unit.

Reward for this quest? My very own pet Ashwake. He's going on strict diet of darklings and ice elementals till he can roast me a few kindoms...

Here's your handy dandy reference guide for all your Skyrim modding needs.
There's no better place to start for a beginner modder, but I'm sure there are few gems that haven't (yet) been put on that list. Compability though...

"Requiem" (I'm trying this one out now. It greatly changes how Skyrim is played. Removes levelled creatures and loot rewards, combat is very deadly with no health regeneration, some perks require you to read books before they can be gained or to have certain ingredients in your inventory, stamina drains while running and also if you're wearing heavy armour and don't have the first perk in the heavy armour tree. You'll need to take your time with it and I don't really recommend it for a first playthrough. Enjoy Skyrim as an action RPG first than maybe move to this but I recommend reading through the manual PDF first to understand the new mechanics.
I'm trying it too but having lot of trouble getting my "must have" mods stable with it. Still very much prefer SSS for better compatibility with more "vanilla like" system (not that that's necessarily a good thing) compared to completely redone Requiem system.

ASIS IS another mod that makes playing much more fun, I highly recommend it to anyone who's bored at always facing the same enemies at the same place over and over again.

Also, my state (MN) just announced a one billion dollar budget surplus...again.  All that since we *gasp* raised taxes on the wealthiest earners, how horrifying.
Wait, is that... Minnesota? Some part in USA is actually taxing their rich? Worlds gone mad I tell you...

My issue is that I have...One could say an active imagination. Show me one scary thing, it'll haunt me for god knows how long. From a couple of days to literally years. I'd rather just...Not deal with it, you know?
Must... resist...

Tir, as much as I would agree with you on general level with everything you said there, in this case it's of no use for her. Except for
Support your sister, Caroline.
part, that's badly needed for everyone their mother terrorises. If she were normal overprotective parent Helgo's advice would have been good, that kind of parents do what they do because they never even think that they could not be right in what they do, or not allowed to do it, and consider it "their own bussines" no one else has right to interfere with.
Easiest way to make them reconsider that way of thinking is to physically stop them.
Getting decked once or twice will make even dumbest abusing parent realize they are not holding that kind of power over you anymore, and force them change how they behave (for better or for worse). Separation and counseling by neutral third party would be very much preferred, but sometimes it just takes too long.

That's what I think for sane parents, which Caroline's mother apparently isn't. She seems more likely to go the way of that guy in timferius' link, and no one here wants that...

One more year C! 365 days, we're counting it for you.

Damn ninjas! Frumple said all I wanted to say better, too.

If Putin wants Ukraine to not join the EU and NATO, why did he settle for half-measures? Why did he not let the rebels reach Kiyv while the Ukrainian army was in absolute disarray and install a pro-Russian government?
Remember how that last pro-russian gov Ukraine had ended up?
You can install puppet easily enough but it's much harder to keep them in power (and in check), something USA has noticed few times...

I can hear him screaming through my headphones. He was screaming during dinner too. My mom told me to go eat downstairs. Her boyfriend said that I'm "not going fucking anywhere".

Now he's trying to claim $300 an hour. He says that my mom can't show any legal documents to a lawyer because they were already written by his lawyer, and so should be fine. My mom wants all numbers of costs and expenses written out by their lawyers. He says that the numbers he comes up with off of the top of his head are fine. He's trying to put his own expenses and debt onto my mom so that he won't have to pay as much, and will get more in the end. Apparently the only things we are allowed to leave the house with are the things we owned before we met him. He can go get fucked if he thinks he is entitled to anything that my mom or I paid for with our own money.

My mom called him out on being a verbally abusive dick. He claims that all regular people routinely call each-other the same abusive shit he calls people around him, and that they are actually terms of endearment. Because nothing says "I love you" quite like "you are a fucking retard who is a failure in life". He was also called out on the fact that he forgets what he says seconds after words leave his mouth. He said that only idiots pay attention to what they or other people say.
Record him saying/shouting that shit, keep it in case it goes ugly.
Seriously.

You sure do have a strange sense of humor...

Although I admit that the player just going "Fuck this I'm out" and offing his character was pretty funny...
I was giggling like manic schoolgirl on crack the whole time.
10/10 would watch movie version of that.

I'd be interested in how Owlbreads brethren shocked you to your senses about how every culture is full of assholes~
It was mostly me reading the local mass media and going "Jesus Christ, that's, like, Soviet-level propaganda right here!"

And then I started trusting the anti-Western sources more and so on and so forth.

But the final nail was the incessant squabbling in the university's student association.
Remember that most of the mass media you probably saw was simplified and dumbed down to intentionally pander to people who know next to nothing about... well, anything beyond latest "reality" TV celebrities, and can't be arsed to make any effort change that either. That, and lack of cultural reference for clickbait headlines.

Tl;dr: Tabloids are worse than propaganda, since they have no goal other than sales.

I went clothes shopping today. Everything was going great; Everything I found was cheap and it all fit and I didn't even have to pay anything myself because my supervisor was paying for everything. Got about $180 worth of great stuff, and left almost all of it at the bus stop for less than 5 minutes, on accident. When I came back, it was gone.
All I have left is 3 of the 15 items I got. I'm starting to remember why I should never be allowed to do anything by myself again.
I do the opposite and keep all the bags and whatever I carry always at hand since I'm worried that I'll forget them if let them down. Then I keep opening them constantly to make sure I have everything I needed with me, just to be sure.

That's sucky of her. Most important news should be delivered in person.
Reminded me of the text conversation I saw.

Your dad died

Oh good, he's been underground for the past 3 years

Could have just told me I got the wrong number you ass

No, YOU are the ass. If someone's dad dies they deserve at the very least a phone call, not just a fucking text
I have that saved, somewhere...
