Yeah, XP isn't some magic energy that pops out of dead creatures. It's a representation of your group's tactics succeeding and thereby becoming more experienced at their roles.

In my current game, I've done away with XP for kills completely. Instead, my players gain 1 XP per successful mission. Every 3 XP they gain a level. And instead of loot defining their character wealth, they receive a set amount of gold per mission equal to 1/3 WBL. However, any loot found during a mission can be used for the duration before they turn it in as part of their success.

I've found this creates a happy balance, where all characters get equal shares of the rewards, and there's no arguments over whether an encounter should reward XP or not. It also avoids situations where only a few people in the group get XP, meaning some might be over-leveled.

My only contribution to the christianity in RPG genre is that I love how the Pathfinder Inquisitor class archetype character wears a costume that nobody ever expects.

Interesting thought! I know some monsters feature a core mechanic that revolves around real disabilities, but nothing specifically jumps to mind regarding the deaf. Plus, that kind of thing edges awfully close to disrespecting those who legitimately suffer from such a disability. While I can get behind the idea of an elderly NPC that simply screeches "WHAT?!" at the players, I don't know that I'd be comfortable with anything that made light of the difficulties faced by those born without hearing, especially knowing one personally and being good friends with their brother.

Interestingly, Pathfinder 1e does have a creature that carries a deaf tag, the Akata. Given that it's a hairless blue space-lion with tentacles for a mane, I don't think it edges too close to being disrespectful either. Unless, of course, you self-identify as a hairless blue space-lion. No worries though, just be sure to give me a heads up and I'll make sure I avoid disrespecting your body identity in-game. Also, no, I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in helping you LARP your character.

I remember someone once compared Ark to a battle royale game where there's no storm and the map never resets. Essentially, the first players to emerge from the initial scrum have a permanent advantage over new players.

Not my idea of fun.

Yeah, 3.5 lore has outsiders being 100% organic soul, whereas humanoids are more of a soul in a disposable meat wrapper.

As for horns, maybe a half-fiend template? Oooh, or maybe a half-dragon! Possibly even something more exotic, like a satyr or other fey creature.

Still, our disembodied friend Pawlush is familiar with giants, gnomes, and celestial creatures, so they seem well educated for whatever they are. The name makes me think they're some kind of humanoid-animal hybrid, since it kind of sounds like someone's furry fetish character.

Australia just got a second 'big' outbreak. Double digit numbers of cases in Victoria. Damn it, so close!

And poor New Zealand, you let one Brit in and they ruin the place. Think they'd have learnt their lesson back in the 19th century.

I finally get it!

The NBN was actually a government defense project. If our enemies try to hack us, the connection speed is so slow you can just walk over and pull the cable out of the wall before they get anything important.

Plus, if it's dexamethasone instead of, say, tocilizumab or baricitinib, I'm gonna be far less suspicious about funding motivations influencing research results.

Damn I'm old. I remember when all you needed to keep a fortress happy was stacks of dwarven syrup roasts, floodgates to refresh your farms each spring, and avoiding digging too far to the right.

I kinda understand the reasoning behind the taser shooting. Tasers render you helpless to resist what comes afterwards.

I mean, the drunk guy could have done anything to the cop after he dropped him. Even, like, pressing his knee on the guy's neck until he died!

Also in regards to the drunken morning after, there's a Reddit thread about 100 carousing results that might be just what your players need.

44 = "Hey you, you're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right?" a man asks you, as you are sitting in a cart riding to a destination unknown.
Damn it, now I got the urge to go Skyrim.

Absolutely amazing list. Beyond quality. Full marks to you for such a creative set of drunken hijinks outcomes.

Thinking people will stop wanting to have more resources than others, or have a means of exerting power over others through denying or providing them resources, is a foolish pipe-dream.

It's hard-wired into the human psyche to want more. Nobody ever reaches a state of absolute satisfaction with their current level of resources, barring the fringe cases of the religiously enlightened monk. Capitalism offers the majority at least the illusion of a possibility to achieve their next level of desire through work, invention, or personal charisma. The reason the system is breaking down is thanks to the widening gap between the highest and the mean distribution of wealth. Eventually, it's expected that this will reset through social upheaval, warfare, or natural disaster.

Frankly, if you use dating apps to meet people, you're only going to meet the kind of people that want to meet through dating apps.

I met my wife at the library. I've had other relationships that emerged out of conversations on public transport, at workplaces, or in 'typical' singles locations like pubs. Plenty of these people would never be the type to use an app to meet people. Just be assertively outgoing and put your best foot forward. People being people, you'll probably strike out plenty. That part's meaningless. Fear of failure is all that's preventing your eventual success.

As regards capitalism, I just hope my home country realizes how single-minded dependence on pursuing the slimmest margins and biggest profits has led them to this state. Recession is inevitable, everything stops growing eventually. Use the time to build a new model not tied to past failures.

Looks like typical Chinese sabre-rattling to me. They like to make sure they show lots of pictures of their soldiers to make sure their citizens and neighbours are aware they're ready to put the big ol' boot down on the neck of anyone threatening their status quo.
