My group has stuck with Pathfinder 1st edition, and has no interest in swapping to D&D 5th edition or Pathfinder 2nd edition for the fact that they simply remove too much player agency in quirky stuff you can do with rules.

Tonight, my players get their final session against the halfling bard that's been trying to steal their solid gold sarcophagus they've been guarding. I wonder if they'll see through his cunning disguise before he steals it from under their noses?

As an aside, one of my favorite DM trick traps has always been the Invisibility spell.

I'm assuming 90% of players have only ever looked at the spell as a means of stealth to bypass enemies. But there's actually a big bag of tricks that you can use with casting it on objects.

One of my all time best was a sheet of invisible iron halfway across a pit trap, hanging down from the ceiling. The player tries to jump across the 10 ft. wide pit? Bang! Straight into the iron, then splat! Down the hole.

I respect those who have beliefs that endorse abstinence from alcohol. However, as a pastafarian, the holy sacraments of my faith demand I consume alcohol and engage in delights of the flesh on Fridays, his holy day.

That reminds me, I need to go buy more booze tomorrow.

Dude.

This is Goblins.

All this means is that something horrible is going to happen to someone we actually like.

Hmm, true. Wait, then dairy? Maybe some kind of White Russian, a la The Dude?

Yeah, that'd do it. Breakfast of champions. Except, I dunno how well whiskey would substitute for vodka.

This calls for experimental testing.

Genius or sheer idiocy? Only time will tell.

Only if you mix it with some grain product.

Luckily, beer.

Also, since my D&D group has an anti-undead cleric and a virgin paladin in it, I'm gonna have to work a zombie prostitute into the story sometime.

Our newspapers should know better. They obviously need to stick to reporting celebrity gossip, advertorials and sports. So long as they avoid any topic sensitive to the ruling government or their private contributors, all will be well.

I would, but frankly I'm far too into a bottle of gin to consider even thinking about possibly ruminating on a theoretical turn at Drunk Fortress.

Plus, I have rather specific design strategies that tend not to coincide with other players.

Gin is the devil's drink, lads. Avoid at all costs.

Isn't it fortunate this terrible crime against Australian security occurred after the election?

I'm sure that the government incumbent would have had no large swing against it if this had occurred immediately prior to the populace general voting in selection of their leadership.

So the police have raided a journalist's home, siezed his phone and computers, and raided the ABC offices too.

I expect China is likely congratulating its Australian friends in proper guidance of the state journalism mouthpiece.

Wow, best start ever. I decided to try my hand at Desolation Point, since I'm tired of Mystery Lake starts. End up spawning right in front of Hibernia Processing, with three wolves patrolling the outside. I quickly run inside and explore.

By the time I walk out of the building, I have a knife, hatchet, hacksaw, hammer, and a fully loaded revolver. Those three wolves were mighty tasty!

I end up spending 40 days at Desolation point, cleaning out the map before I leave wearing fully crafted clothing, a moose satchel and hauling over 80kg of bear and moose meat. About the only two items I didn't find were a magnifying lens and a set of cooking pots. Honestly, by that stage my survivor was so well off he basically couldn't lose.

Then I went and tried an Interloper run, spawned on Skeeter's Ridge and survived all of three days before I froze to death trying to reach Carter Dam.

So I've picked this one up, which has been around since 2014. The team recently released version 1.50, which includes a new weapon and some extra gear. They've got two of five sections of their main storyline finished, and the release is slowly rolling forward for completion of the rest of the story mode gameplay.

One thing I found interesting to learn is that, rather than push forward with the story mode, the development team listened to their playerbase feedback on their initial two episodes and went back to redo them, removing pointless fetch quests in favor of more story driven activities that actually added something to the game's lore. I respect the team for actively working to improve their game instead of simply pushing out more content.

I've sunk a few weeks into this, and I can reliably avoid starving or freezing to death on the default difficulty. I'm contemplating moving up to a higher difficulty setting soon, once I'm more familiar with the maps. While loot generation is semi-random, the maps themselves are all hand-crafted to provide challenging and rewarding experiences for each playthrough, and part of the slow, silent charm of this game is exploring the locations available.

Frankly, I'm in love with this solitude simulation. No other players, no zombie hordes, just man versus nature in a struggle to survive. Even just leaving the main menu open to listen to the blowing wind and birdsong is heavenly.

I highly recommend trying this game.

Nah, it's not a sign of old age. The legendary 'after grog bog' is your body getting rid of all the stuff it no longer needs, such as the dead portions of your liver.

I really enjoyed my sweet potato flavoured makgeolli the other night. Thinking I'll probably order that one again.

And thus we end with the same mob as before.

Looks like Bill Shorten is throwing in the towel. Can't say I blame the bloke, it sucks to be the funny looking kid that always gets picked last for sports.

Hah, vegan 'democracy sausages?' Nah, I'll take mine original, filled with testicles, eyeballs and all the other bits of meat you can't usually sell.

My local school apparently subscribes to the Bunnings method of onion beneath the sausage, not on top. Heathen barbarians.

Don't really know why I bothered to show up, anyhow. My electorate's pretty much a sure bet for the LNP. Somewhere in the top five for the state, for sure.
