Spoiler: Ye Olde Update (click to show/hide)

I'm still feeling kinda optimistic this year.

122
I'm feeling unloved and alone. My day is pretty terrible. I would like some hugs, please.

The sheer amount of content I have to read for class is making me sad. And apparently, this is nothing compared to what I'll have to read in law school.
As someone who is university for history, I can assure you that in absolutely any field that is not one of the math-heavy sciences you will need to read tons and tons of text. Frankly, the hardest part is finding somewhere to put the piles upon piles of paper when you no longer need them.

Its not necessarily just the idea of the reading itself. I enjoy reading. It's the extent to which some of my professors want me to meticulously dissect the text. It's incredibly time-consuming and draining.

If you ever need someone to talk to, just shoot me a pm. I'm usually lurking around here somewhere. (And this goes for anyone else who needs an empathetic ear.)

This goes for you too and I mean it. I can't promise to always have advice or suggestions for you because I'm still learning how to deal with my own life problems in healthy ways, but I can be there to listen, and yes, care.

I just found out that I don't have ADD.

Turns out it's actually depression... Explains why I never finish or have interest in finishing anything.

On the bright side, a proper diagnosis leads to proper treatment. Depression is shitty, but it's not unbeatable. I've lived with it for eleven years now and I'm still getting by.

I awoke this morning to a sore throat that's lingered all day. Either I'm developing a cold or my mold allergies are acting up. Both possibilities are equally annoying.

Yeah... 2015 wasn't a good year for me... I hope I can do better this year. Now... to decide what to put on my list...

This is a place for those of us who have some stuff to accomplish and could use an encouraging word or two in the process

Rules (taken from last year's thread here.):

1. Post twelve meaningful steps you plan to take in making stuff better for 2016.

-- Not little stuff like "take out the garbage on New Year's Day" unless you have some sort of massive complex about garbage on New Year's that you're struggling to get over. "Build the habit of taking out the garbage consistently" is fine, though.

-- The goal's not to speed through your checklist by April, but rather to focus your year on doing the stuff that you think is important.

2. You may do a total reroll three times per year. That means you can change as many goals as you like, or add new goals to supplement the ones that you've already completed--but no more than twelve active goals at a time.

-- The limitation in reroll frequency is in order to get you to think carefully about the things you want to do and commit to them.

-- Rerolls exist so that you can change your goals to respond to unexpected events, like getting laid off or Suddenly A New Nephew.

-- Limitation in volume is to keep you from being overwhelmed by the number of things you need to complete.

-- You may want to keep a reroll count at the bottom of your post so you can keep track.

3. You may join at any point of the year.

Some hints for manageable goal-setting:

-- Choose specific goals with concrete steps.

-- Choose emotionally meaningful goals that are intrinsically motivating.

-- Publicly posting about your intentions and a step-by-step plan to fulfill your plans is supposed to help, so consider making regular progress reports, especially when you're struggling.

Not the best results, and with Vector gone someone else will have to step up to make another one of these.

I'd like to make the next one. I'll have it up by tonight if there are no objections.

Silthuri, why did you finish day 1 without a vote on anyone?

Because my Friday was very busy and I forgot like half my responsibilities. This game being one of them.
