Wierd posted an article saying it's CO2 concentration that drives all this. It's higher to begin with because that promotes some kind of base growth and then you lower it for fruiting because that gives better results. Don't remember the details, you can look up the article as easily as I can :P

Mostly I've been asleep or at work.

Sexual harassment is maybe a bit strong, but it is in that direction. It makes me uncomfortable, I don't only find them stupid.

The other thing is that, y'know, this is the sad thread. People don't post here because they're in a good mood. The least anyone can do is not respond to a post with the specific thing that was pointed out as undesirable.

The stuff my doctor told me to take is over the counter but not prescription, so not that powerful. Definitely said daily, though.

So you get your vitamin D "over the counter"?

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ha ha ha. Absolutely hilarious. So original that I could pre-emptively complain about it in my original post.

I nearly didn't share that post because I really didn't feel like dealing with the dick jokes, but then I decided that I've been keeping too much canned up and should actually vent occasionally. Mistake, I guess.

Do concept albums count? Because then there are lots :P

Other than that, he's never explicitly named in the music but a lot of Orden Ogan's songs are about an undead guy wandering through "life" getting in trouble and accidentally ruining everything he touches. I know there are other metal bands that have recurring characters/objects as well, but I can't put my finger on any right now.

Our supplements are more tightly regulated, as far as I know. That is, they're regulated. I'm sure it's possible to buy stupid stuff if you want to, but it's less pervasive.

Well it depends. Medical grade vitamin D is usually a stronger dose and you dont take 8t every day...

A litre is in the most technical sense a unit of capacity rather than volume.

It's also a bad idea to use litres in real physical calculations because it messes with the dimensional analysis compared to just acknowledging it as a distance cubed.

Said shortly, litres don't exist in pure calculation terms.

My sad is that I'm now diagnosed vitamin D deficient, despite the quantity of fierce sunlight we get. Taking supplements will hopefully make me hate life less, but it's an extra tablet in the daily routine.

Oh, and I'm sure lots of people will think it's funny to make crass jokes about dicks.

"The mathematician, Vector, is trying to teach a student, and, to impress him, takes on their multivariate form; and says, 'now I am become math, calculator of vectors'."

That's basically what they've done with the Asian elephant DNA. Didn't look into the details, though.

A cursory search suggests that the freezing preserves structural integrity better than DNA, which still degrades. Only fragmentary DNA sequences have been extracted, although combination with Asian elephant DNA has been somewhat promising.

So no, can't be done. But ask again later!

"Never complain about rain in Africa."

Meanwhile in Ethiopia at least 20000 refugees have disappeared from camps and opposition parties claim 52000 have been killed in the civil war rebellion ethnic conflict they're busy with. The Tigrayan side seems to want to stop, but it's unclear if the majority government actually will, with the president decreasingly relying on advisors and increasingly acting on instinct and his personal rulership philosophy, not something that's ever gone wrong before.

Walk by tv on infomercials. Dude shilling some kind of beauty product.

Says lots of fancy, roundabout words, then says more clearly: "It takes off the top layer of your skin."

 And I'm just, like. What?

Several treatments do this, most dramatically the chemical peel (which would not be for home use, I'm pretty sure). It can ruin your skin's sun resistance, as far as I know, and be terribly itchy (but of course you can't scratch it) but it reduces a lot of acne scarring so if you have it badly enough it really can be worth it.

But, you know, nobody wants to hear "we're gonna burn your face off with acid so it grows back smooth" so different names had to be devised.
