AHA, i definitely see coloured lighting here! MY EYES ARE NOT TRICKED TODAY. That being said, i feel like it's the shadows that should be reddish rather than the light, unless it's actually a white background and a red light source.  If the light source is red, EVERYTHING should be tinted red, not just the highlights.

Switch it around, you say? Sure thing!

You've cleaned up the outlines nicely this time, but obviously ETERNAL CRITIC COMRADE SHOOK can still find something to moan about: I won't moan about the hands themselves since they're obviously not human, but the hand resting on the hip is rather awkward, like it's in a pocket that doesn't exist. Try resting your own hand on your hip like that; it's not really a comfortable position, and it's going to slip if you stop actively holding it there.

I actually did think about that, but forgot to fix it. Good catch! I was going to tuck his thumb into his belt. And don't worry about being an ETERNAL CRITIC, I really appreciate it.

There's also some inconsistent lighting, i.e. the sword pommel implies light from the right side of the image, so how is the other side of the blade, facing away from the light, lit so brightly...?

Hmm, I didn't see it at first, but now I do. In my head, the blade is oriented incorrectly with respect to the hilt. Thank you!

Same thing with how there's highlights on the butt (implying a light source coming sorta from behind) yet also clear lighting on his(?) front. Now obviously, overcast weather or multiple light sources would permit things like this, but... I don't get that impression.

Yeah, screwed up shading his coat front. He did petrol bomb a manor house, though, so we'll pretend he's watching it burn. :P

All that said, the detail level is very good (as is usual from you by now!), and oh my goodness you fucking NAILED that horn, i don't think it could look much better than it does. c:

Thank ye!

also speaking of dogs here have a dogtective

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

i can't draw dog butts apparently

Yee, because dogs don't have butts like that. Needs a lot more haunch. Poor dogtective has skinny, skinny thighs. ;_;

Many (or even most) cheap heavily processed meats like hamburger patties are in significant part made of cereals. It's depressing and the main reason I don't eat them much.

Not training until next Wednesday or Thursday. Partly because I don't have an opportunity, partly because I strained my hip at the tournament on the weekend and rolled my ankle at training last night. Every now and then I absent-mindedly plant my leading foot square, and though I don't do it often apparently it's enough.

On the plus side, I'm improving rapidly. I'm increasingly confident in bouts, and last night I was managing to identify openings in my opponents fairly confidently. On the minus side, I'm still not sure how to take them without getting countered. :P

Edit: Further inspection reveals that I did not roll my ankle. Rather, one of the foot shots I took hit rather harder than I thought at the time. There's a bruise the size of a hen's egg, and it broke the skin slightly through my sock. Phew.

Yeah, I know the reals are a group (which legitimises the assumption), but proving that the reals are a group (which is essentially what Cinder's asking)? Bit more of a mouthful.

You definitely can say that, since there's no way to combine real numbers to produce a non-real result. I think there should be some kind of proof by contradiction if you assume a and b are real but combine to form some arbitrary (x + iy)? I don't think you'd need to prove it, though.

Pulled something in my hip at the tournament on the weekend, it aches and hurts to lunge. But I'm not gonna skip practice today or I don't get to fence until next Wednesday or something silly.

someone who I think is the current national champion

This guy? He sort-of at random decided that since he's a nice guy and he reckons the current batch of new fencers have potential, he'll coach us for free. Which is pretty great because I'm pretty sure it's what he does for a living, and he's a very good coach.

Usually he joins his fallen brothers in the recycling within a few days.

Gone to the great glass hall in the hereafter, where he shall be reforged anew to be drunk from by Odin's sons. Unless he was a bad bottle, broken and cast aside by the roadside in shame, where only by the grace of a garbage collecting valkyrie can he be redeemed. We do not speak of the bottles consigned directly to the landfill.

Cant is probably too strong a word. A very dedicated effort (like the Russians did with foxes) could probably produce domesticated zebras.

Very difficult is a better one, because of the long periods between foal/colt and mating maturity, and the number of generations it would take to produce domestic behaviors through selective breeding. (Would need to be accellerated the way the russians did it, with a massive breeding program to maximize genetic mutation rate and selection.)

Well, yes, but "can't" is always a strong word. With a dedicated program we probably could put out the sun, but it's such a pointless goal with such harsh requirements that it may as well be impossible. Domesticating zebra is easier but will only yield small, stripy, vicious horses, so I doubt we'll ever see it either. :P

**Some horses are just assholes

This is incidentally why zebra can't be domesticated. They're all like that.

Fucking OROCHI.

Can't flame my life choices if you can't catch me, my friend.

So as to post other things than memes:

The armor detail is top notch, the faces are very good (although the girls face has a somewhat odd colour, it's a bit... Green?), and the orientation of the limbs and body match up (which is something i'm pretty sure i've poked you about before). You've clearly spent a lot of time on the little details, which is a good thing, but it stands as a stark contrast to the messiness along the outlines of the characters, which could have used a bit of cleaning. That besides, while i won't chide you once more for shading solely with black and white (i see other colours here!), i feel i have to mention that your way of shading has this odd dirty look to it. I mean, it makes sense for warriors to be dirty, but this isn't the right kind of dirty. It's almost completely absent on their faces, likely due to a higher degree of refinement. I dunno, i guess it's just because the brush strokes haven't been smoothed, and i can relate to the tedium of doing that. I'll get back to you if i figure anything out. Overall, you've done a solid job here!

The colour is something I fiddled with for a long while, before deciding that unfortunately leather armour just doesn't flatter her complexion. :P And yeah, I should have cleaned up the outlines a lot more.

The shading is actually just your eyes playing some tricks on you - I completely forgot to colour the shading, again. :P I did know I should have done it, though.

The odd dirty look is something to do with the brush strokes, but I'm not 100% sure what. I'm working on it, though!

Thank you for the compliments.

It's a common malapropism for "chock full of".
