The sweets are especially great, but they're all very cool!

My dad would definitely identify with your gear acquisition syndrome, he loves collecting lenses (although usually rather pricier than a song) and video/photography kit.

@Arx: Visually i'm reminded of some neat cross between Runescape and Age of Empires, pretty neat! I uh, also shamelessly enjoy that lil' unit in the upper right. :V

I've not actually played RS but I can see the similarities. There's a lot of influence from AoE1 especially, and the whole project is partly an homage to it! I love the saturated colours and super-distinctive shapes in AoE1 and to a lesser extent 2.

I actually thought of you when I doodled top-right guy :v His face is intentionally shookstyle.

Your doodles are expressive as always. Those hands are pretty high quality!

She's a character from the web serial Pact, which has quite a few characters similar to her. It's a great read! I'm glad you like it. The key to "making stuff like that" is 100% practice. Somewhere along the line I seem to have ended up practicing drawing for five years, which comes as something of a surprise to me actually, but I was never "naturally talented" or anything. If ya want to do it, work at it, and you'll get there!

The 3D model is indeed from an RTS I'm working on. It's not much to look at right now though. I'm still working on some pretty basic features and it's littered with Programmer Graphics, of varying effort levels.

What do you mean, make the scene work? It looks like a dark house, a game where penguins explore a dark/haunted house would be interesting

I mean to make it look more appealing. It's meant to look a bit frozen over, with the blue-tinge and the white dusting around the edges. But aside from creating actual snow build-up and improving the penguins, I'm not sure what to put in the scene.

The scene is based a bit off of this image I found.

But so far all I've done is brighten it up a bit and add a lamp.

Maybe a bit overdone and formless, but there's snow and icicles.

The idea at the end is to animate the penguins hopping down the stairs.

Snow is incredibly reflective. I'd look at adding some kind of cool diffuse sky light and getting the snow a lot brighter. My two cents, anyway!

I'm not actually dead, I've just had... a great deal going on. Anyway!

Ooo that's rather mesmerizing! That'd be a really cool effect for some kind of magical projectile in a game

Seconded! Super cool.

i can heavily recommend Krita, it's free and can actually compete with paid options in many regards.

I highly recommend Krita. I'd go beyond saying it can compete with paid options and say that there's pretty much nothing an artist frequently needs that Krita doesn't have. Every time I've wanted a feature from PS, Krita has had it or an alternative.

Edit:

Also concept art

In a bizarre turn of events, I fear I am going to have to deliver 8 lectures a day for a couple of days next month. This poses some interesting logistic challenges.

I found an orchestral version of a Gloryhammer album.

Holy shit.

Forget the cheese-filled lyrics, that orchestral tune is fucking awesome.

I have said it many times before: Christopher Bowes may be a strange, strange little man, and Gloryhammer and Alestorm may be hilarious, but he's a brilliant musician and the bands make some of the best music in the genre.

I can guess at what that phrase is meant to represent, but "complete donor chimera" just has too many unnerving connotations to be entirely comfortable.

On my own sad my throat is even worst.

I find gargling with salt does a pretty decent job of clearing things up, if only for a bit.

Consider volunteering as a way to get out, socialize and feel better about yourself. You can also gain skills and it looks good on a resume.

My CV is, for my field, about as stacked as humanly possible for a recent graduate thanks to church work. Volunteer work can be great.

...it can also be a soul crushing grind that occasionally makes you question your relationship with your mother, but that might be a different problem.

You'll only ever be a cog if you do that.

There's also nothing wrong with "being a cog". You can have a fulfilling career without being an Ultra Motivated Ground Breaking Hyper Synergistic People Forward Solutions Oriented Scrappy Startup CEO. I could probably ramble/rant for a long time on modern culture vis a vis being a cog, but the short version is that not everyone can be doing Something Big and that's okay.

Doesn't curry specifically refer to a sauce with yoghurt? I haven't heard the curry leaves one before, and I don't find their flavour strong enough to be defining for any dish. Maybe I just don't use enough...

Proper Indian chutneys can be fantastic. Also atchars, which are similar but formally distinct. They're also much easier to find than amchoor, which I've never actually seen in a shop despite having spent some time living in a city legendary for its Indian diaspora.
