General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

IIRC, Greeks used the word 'Saurus' (lizard) as slang for Penis.

Meanwhile, in Latin, Saurus means treasure.

Take that how you will.
"I've got a lizard in my pants!"
"Really? I've got treasure in mine."

Edit: even better:
"I've got treasure in my pants~"
"Really? Looks like a lizard to me."

Well, looks like this'll be mundane, failing massive deus ex machina.

Deus ex machina? How so? A german air raid dropped a bomb on them, it's kinda what happened during the bombing attacks of WW2.

No, what I meant was that unless there is a sudden and massive deus ex machina (which this isn't), Mort's death will not be caused by falling bricks, inaccurate JonesChopsTM, or any other unexpected cause.

Didn't he also take LSD at one point, in the modern-day adaptation of the film?
Mercutio gives him an unidentified pill just before the party, yes.

Eish. That sucks, greatorder. Can you take it again without suffering Red (tape) Miles?

Vanilla coke + spiced rum = good
Coke + bourbon = good
All other combinations are not.

Seriously, spiced rum&bourbon is not a fun drink.
...why would you mix hard liquor with hard liquor‽

I accidentally vanilla coke.
You should be glad; some people cut it with borax, which is not only less flavoursome but also worse for you. Of course, you should be too high to tell the difference--

Oh, you don't mean that kind of coke. I've always quite liked vanilla coke, although I can't get it here.

I remember that. It was very silly.

Quoting the actual Shakespeare lines while shooting up a gas station. :v

[Note: Silly doesn't mean bad]
"Do you bite your thumb at me sir!!"
"I do bite my thumb sir!"
<screaming>"Do you bite your thumb at us sir!!!"
"Is the law with me if I say I do!!!"
"No!!'
"Then I do bite my thumb, but not at thee sir!!"

Whilst wielding semi-automatics and leaning on cars. Also guns called Swords.

Edit for additional happy: I passed the maths test I thought I failed!

Whoa, Vi Hart is on Khan Academy apparently. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/recreational-math/vi-hart/
I discovered that the other day while trying to use KA for productive ends; I lost the next twenty minutes instead.

Happy: I had to watch a film adaption of Romeo and Juliet for a course, and it was significantly better than I expected.
which adaptation is this?
Baz Luhrmann "Romeo + Juliet", Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. It's set in 20th century Verona, so I expected it to have extensive "I'm a movie maker, so I know better than the most famous playwright ever!" editing, but there was almost none.

I just realized that I'm in at least five different online communities, and I'm not truly a part of any of them.
I'd say you're part of this one.
Whether you like it or not

I have a few good stories, like this one time the entire field was covered in ice, so we called it operation slip and slide. I used my shield like a snowboard down a hill and managed to get a kill that way.

When I went paintballing, it all seemed fairly structured, although that could just be the group I was with. Much closer to an unplanned military operation lead by a competent officer than a bunch of blokes on a field shooting wildly at each other.

I have discovered something worse than two-point ellipses...............

Using an arbitrary number of points..... and using them instead of commas or full stops.........

The pain..........................

Hopefully I'll be going paintballing again in the next couple of months; it's a lot of fun.

The closest thing I have to an anecdote is this:
The place we were paintballing at had some rules, such as thou shalt wear a mask, thou shalt not shoot for the face, and specifically, thou shalt not shoot at less than 5m without offering a chance to surrender; so when a guy came up behind me he shouted "Surrender now!". Unfortunately for him, my reflexes were sufficiently fast that I managed to shoot him twice (in the neck [it was a mistake!]) without him getting off a shot.

@Tiruin I wore jeans, a long sleeved T-shirt and a baggy shirt and I'm pretty sure I'd have been fine. Of course, I've always managed to avoid being hit, so...

Seal Sucking Nose Banger.
http://www.insult-generator.org/
'Burger smoking cork strangler'
'Fart Banging Groin Bag'
'Anal taming ass chewer'
"Hooker Smoking Tree Banger"

So close to a working insult, yet so far. Flip some words around and it works.

Wow, I just tried it again and got "Turd Taming Goblin Cleaver"
That aint no insult.
