Say, do Minecraft skins count for this thread? I've made like four, with some recolors thrown in, that I may upload after school.
Sure. Anything you like qualifies for this thread!

Also, if Science were a fantasy author...

Spoiler:  The Trigonal Planar (click to show/hide)
Spoiler:  The Eightfold Way (click to show/hide)

Prompted by joking around with my sister about some of these terms. No great artistic value, but fun.

A tanker truck hauling - get this - molten sulphur. Why is a truck hauling molten sulphur around, and why isn't it several miles away from me? That's possibly the second-nastiest thing I've seen, freightwise.
This begs the question...

E: ninja'd almost exactly

And hallelujah, Eskom have got their act together and the loadshedding is canceled.

Also, my teacher has allowed me to rewrite the test that the power outages caused me to miss, and it was easy. I suspect my previous biology teacher just had a habit of setting murdertests.

And, whilst using SQLite while the rest of the class is using MS Access isn't exactly easy, it does wonders for your ego if you can pull it off, and should do wonders for my Java database accessing later on.

I saw someone spell "Chewbacca" "Chubaka". This is a vaguely terrifying insight into the mind of the anime extremist.

My hair is now mostly purple.
I wanted to post a .gif of that Asian teacher from Community screaming "Gayyy!"

I googled for "gay gif".

I am not a smart man.
If this is a joke in general about Asians...  >:(
No, I think he wanted a specific scene from a movie where a person who happened to be Asian was shouting "Gayyy!" in a presumably humorous fashion or context. What he did wrong was left out any keywords specifying that it was a specific movie scene he wanted, and I assume he got some... dubious results he rather wishes he hadn't seen.

Spoiler: Finished? (click to show/hide)

Jopax's advice on the background really helped. Not too happy with the end of the cloak, or the clouds, but I want to stop and work on something else.

Well, wet things are notoriously bad at being burnt. That said, you'd think the operators of a coal power plant would make some preparations for the possibility of weather happening.
I'm WTFing about that somebody still uses coal. In 21st century. This is sooooo 19th century guys.
Everyone still uses coal. Or possibly oil, in the middle east, but the point stands.

Recently I've been finding thin skin-deep cuts (as in I never see any blood or wound, just what look like scabs) along my arms for no apparent reason, particularly the back of my hands and forearms. I'm in good health otherwise, so I'm not sure what's going on. Am I being cut with x-acto knives while I sleep? Are they not cuts at all, but some other condition? Am I going insane?

Often, when I'm working on something like a robot, car, or plane, and I'm focused on my work, I'll cut myself on sharp sheet metal edges/other slicey bits without noticing until well after the fact.

Tl;Dr: you're getting sheet metal cuts in your sleep.

Tl;Tl;Dr: do you ever work around anything sharp, even something like, say, the edge of desk lamp or something as inconspicuous?

This was actually the first thing I thought of. Is there a spiky wall next to your bed? Do you scratch your arms in your sleep?

The teacher sent an email out to everyone in the class, except for me.
Dafuq, lady?
My teachers have yet to do this, but they have been known to email me instead of other people.

Eskom is giving up electricity for Lent.

Yesterday and the day before were plagued by power outages. Which were caused by a power station in Gauteng being offline. Because of the heavy rain. But not because of say, flooding or mudslides or dropping into a sinkhole; no, because the coal got wet. Well played, Eskom.

I spent a little over twenty bucks ... a Mac Mini which will not be Mac in about ten minutes, for it is even now installing Kali Linux.

I should work at a university computer store.

cplusplus.com is a good reference, with a few tutorials.

As for MATLAB, I don't think that'll help much. C++ is very unfriendly, very rigid; it's not exactly out to get you, but it's quite different to the way MATLAB looks. Good luck, and always remember the programming thread in GD if you get stuck and no-one notices you here.

Hi, I'm Darvi, MaximumZero is MetalSlimeHunt, Sheb is Dutchling, and Owlbread is Scotland.
And we're all Pathos. Or MSH's timeclones, or both.

By the way, Cryxis, this thread is a wealth of Bay12 memes and history, such as the penguins below. Only the truly terrible and/or hilarious events are memorialised like this though; it's (relatively) sane most of the time.

And, purely from curiosity, why did you make the handle that way rather than the standard tang/crossguard/hilt deal? Less work?
