I have some copper hammers and a single gold hammer here. Can I exchange that golden hammer for 10 silver hammers?
((Also if the war ended a few months ago, that makes my first character's background really strange, since I thought the war ended some 10 to 8 years ago.))

2 x [1] A gunshot kills one of the elves and an arrow hits another one

3 x [3] Another gunshot and arrows scratch his hands but that enrages him more than hurts.
The mess in the front of you:

He makes a broad upside sweep with his warhammer [5 targets, 5+ to save]
[5] [save] Lucky bastard stood too far to fall under this fearsome attack
[4] A wide arc just glanced him, but say that to his broken rib
[3] Unfortunate got his chest as a finish point of the arc - his inner organs are a mass of blood and meat
[5] [save] Hammerhead swinged right in front of his face
[3] Stood in the way of hammers movement - his legs are broken.

Two remained elves attack:
[5-2] One more wound on his arm. He starts to bleed (-1 for attack rolls for each future turn)
[2-2] His armor does his best.

 - Don't be shy, man, try something more mean. Look here, I've got something for ya, - he shows you a fine pistol (local equivalent of Mauzer C96, if you know what I mean) - two modes: semi-automatic and full-auto. FULL AUTO, man, no jokes here. 14 mean rounds in the clip - forget about puny six in the revolvers. And what is the most important - no way it'll jam in the middle of fight. No way it jams at all if you care it properly. A full complect - pistol, holster and a bunch of ammo - just 60 singuluses. Today's only! You get this one and I give you a nice battle-knife for goddamn free because you won't need it anyway.

Two riflemen and 5 bowmen are alive. Order to pick up rifles/bows (gain -1 for initiative) or let'em shoot with what they hold for maximum speed?

My firing line uses melee weapons to pile in on the guy who reached us, the other elves pile in on sledge.

Former fireline fight:
[initiative roll - 6 vs 4] El Soldato Desperado wins.
He whirls in the middle of your position like a storm of steel (the same mechanics, 2 slashes x 3 targets)
[6] [save] avoids the mess by a well-timed step back
[3] His right arm is no longer part of his body
[5] [save] Blocks attack with a dagger
[6] [save] Dodges the slash by parrying the strike with his rapier - this is a former aristocrat
[1] Divided in two halfs
[3] Collecting his guts from the floor
Time for payback.
[2] A daring lunge with a handheld bayonet pierces the place where he just stood. But he is not there now.
[2] Another lunge with rapier pierces his overoat to the left of his body
[4] A crude cut reaches his chest - a wide wound comes across it
[5] An agile young elf sneaks around him and stabs his back
[6] A rageful sweep decapacitates the body
[5] Another living gunner pierces the body with a bayonet, fixed to his rifle
[2] This guy just sees that the buisness if finished and doesn't do anything

Mr.Sledge's fight
[initiative roll - 6-2 vs 4] He is able to get up when elves get close to him. However, they're coming one by one due to different distances between them and him (seven are attacking, scheme - attack-respond)
[6 vs 6] As the first elf comes to him and sweeps his knife on him from above he blocks it with handle of the hammer and [5 vs 4] punches him in the chest, pushing him away
[2 vs 4] Second hits him from behind, but [4-2] his knife scratches the back of his cuirass
[3 vs 3] Mr sledge blocks the third person [2 vs 2] and stays in that pose
[2 vs 6] second guy attack him from behind once more and [4-2] His knife does no more harm than the previous time. He seems to be unadequate right now.
[5 vs 2] As the fourth guy approaches, Mr Sledge solves the situation with the third one - he suddenly turns around on his place and third elf hits the second, and the attack of fourth goes wide. So now all the four are in front of him.
[1 vs 2] The same moment fifth elf stabs him in the back [2-2] Not successful, though. [6 vs 1] Mr Sledge quickly makes a full-round sweep, smiting that unfortunate
[5 vs 4] Sixth guy comes from the left of Mr Sledge. Mr sledge does a low sweep and elf falls with his legs broken
[3 vs 2] Here comes the last elf. He yells an attacks from the right - Mr Sledge grins and makes a well-timed sidestep to dodge this dabbling attack.

Meanwhile, on the Square:
(For ease of calculations, I'll make 4 x 40d6 (160) rolls for elves)
[initiative roll - 5 vs 6] Elves continue the steelstorm before dragon breathes fir once more:

You examine the books. Nothing related to magedom exept a drama called "Lone Sorcerer". You pay for paper, stylos and ink and head to local small market. There you find a nice waterskin for 5 singuluses, a person who can sell you some corned beef and water (without waterskin) enough to last a week for Quater and a currier that ensures you that it may be cold out there in the mountains and generously offers you a warm sheepskin coat for 12 singuluses. Also, local weaponsmith's assortment looks temptive. What do you do?
