Kobolds are tough mofos. I stabbed one through the back with my sword, tearing apart the heart. The thing still ran 12 tiles before succumbing to his wound.

report your success to anyone.  word  will spread to him.

Okay, how do I do THAT then? Because bragging about past violent acts just says something about something I never did.

ask for directions to him.
He'll likely be in the civic mound, castle mound,  keep, villa, etc

That's the thing. I can't ask for directions. He doesn't show up as an option in any of the direction menus

I returned to my home hamlet but I can't find the leader to turn in a quest. How do I find him? Or find the feast hall?

I don't have the means to get metal bars for a mooded dwarf, so I have createitem set to put items on the floor via createitem floor. Then when I run the actual createitem to spawn in the bars, it refuses to work saying "No unit selected" what do I do?

Whelp, my well is almost full, my mayor has all she needs to not throw a tantrum... and I found that there is a god on my world.

Zim.
Male.

ALL BOW BEFORE ZIIIIIIM!

Edit: I just saw this engraving in my fort. "Engraved on the floor is a finely-designed image of a soldier ant woman and Brutestill the crundle by Ineth Noramvabok. Brutestill is striking down the soldier ant woman. The artwork relates to the killing of a soldier ant woman by the crundle Brutestill in Redrings in the late winter of 125."

HOW DO MY DWARVES KNOW OF THIS CRUNDLE?! I mean, yes he is underneath the fortress, but I haven't dug down that far to have possibly encountered him. What the HFS?

Looks like I need a military before I dig too much deeper.

I need to convert some stairs into open space, but I can't TARGET the stairs. They're Up/Down stairs. How do I actually target them with tiletypes?

trying to empty more of my well so that I have as little mud as possible (I managed to screw up while channelling and now I have to do it manually), but um... my designations suddenly turned blue. What does that mean?

EDIT: Eh, it doesn't matter. I fixed my well... and then one of my dwarves jumps down the channels that feed the well and destroys their upper arm.

*slow clap* Well done, dwarf. I try and save you and you hurt yourself anyway.

(w)ear them.
You may have to (r)emove gloves or mittens first.
They also can't be 'large' or 'small' sized.  Which is relative to your character.

Thanks. Now what do shopkeepers look like using Phoebus? XD or what building are they in in a human settlement?

Setting out on my first quest with this adventurer. Found a group of vultures. Cut the wing off one and severed its head, decapitated another, and then completely bisected the third. Took their mangled corpses with me for food. :D
Ah, that good feeling of murdering wildlife brutally with your adventurer!

I actually have a story now. The conclusion is making me go back to my home, or a town I run into on the way back, which delays me... but...

The brave human swordsman, and our protagonist, Lelgo CLUTCHPANTS (wish I were kidding), sneaks up on a camp where bandits are resting. He sneaks up and quickly dispatches one. Others are sleeping, so he charges in (without waking them somehow) and dispatches them all with slashes through the neck, decapitating their heads. He loots each one of their coins as he goes along... before looting their chests and getting a lot of iron armor. He attacks the captain without remorse, cutting him down with a strike to the gut, spilling his guts, before slashing his head off. :D

How do I equip armor? -3- I found some bronze gauntlets and I want to equip them, but I have no idea how.

Clearly because they are used to magma, which is much more dangerous.

Why do dwarves need water when in the hospital? Booze works much better as a drink and anesthetic.

I officially reached year 2 of my fortress and I still have a mess of a general stockpile and workshops on the surface that don't NEED to be there. but my first priority is really setting up my well.

Their livers are 150% the size and efficiency of ours. Their filtration and such is WAY better then a humans. Plus, what is one the main symptoms of lead poisoning? A greater tendency towards violence. Dwarves will go berserk at any provocation and have fragile psyches. They ARE damaged by their use, just not fatally. Although it is said dwarves used to live a lot longer then they do now, before lead mugs and pitchblende pots became common.

Why haven't dwarves made nuclear reactors by splitting atoms with adamantine blades?

Because clearly adamantine doesn't have a monomolecular edge.

Do dwarves even question the safety of some megaprojects, like Operation F*** the World in the legend of Boatmurdered?
