Can you please provide a link? I'm not doubting you, I just haven't seen them post it anywhere. I'll also slap it in the OP for posterity.

I just wish he had other sources for the download, as of right now it will take over an hour for a 100mb.

Just so many free uploads out there FOR indie games to use, for free.

Other than that this looks awesome.

This would also be an intresting place to discuss the DF-like (Towns, Stonehearth, etc). New genre, not new genre...?

Too broad, IMO. DF et. al. inherit a lot from RTS games and sandbox 4x games. I'd have reservations about trying to put DF in its own genre, just like I'd have issues with trying to put Minecraft in its own genre. The terms "DF-like" and "Minecraft-like" are for convenience's sake, and I don't think any of these games created the qualities that would define a whole stand alone genre.

Plus, DF has really split into two games at this point. Adventure mode is definitely a rogue-like, just with an absurd amount of detail and systems. Fort mode is an RTS game with the same. Being absurdly detailed and feature rich doesn't necessarily mean either mode has reached its own genre. They're both stand on the shoulders of games that came before them.
I see DF fort mode and the other games like it as a modern take on economy sims.  Like the Settlers series.
A game where resources and their production chains are just as important as population, if not more so.
I see DF as having brought a more free-form construction to the genre that has been adapted by others.

On the idea of Rogue likes: the genre isn't dead and by the very method that the genre produces it's very games, it can't die.  Each time a rogue like stops being developed at least two others pop up to replace/surpass it.

The only good reward from the foundry missions is exp and drops.  From what I can tell the reward at the end is based on how long the dungeon is.  I've gotten crap whites mostly, if anything.

While the monsters you fight follow the usual loot table for the level you go into it, all the encounters are set up by the creator and it just sets the level of the mobs to the party average.  Some people are making exp farming missions that have a bunch of high reward mobs that are supposed to be tough, but use path finding errors to make them kill able with out any danger.

You have a decent amount of flexibility when making a mission, mixing and matching dungeon tiles, doodad and mob types.  The scripting seems to allow you to make them exactly like the quests from the creators.

My biggest complaint though is the restricted number of mob types.  Right now you have people (humans, elves, dwarves, halflings ect... of various flavors), undead, wererats, werewolves, animals, some elementals, a few constructs and devils.  It just feels to limiting after playing D&D for so long and having to many monsters to pick from to throw at a party to be presented with so few options.

He's spread out on multiple fronts.  He seems to be engaged just to my south, or at least he was until recently.

Also ensure your PD settings are set to engage at a reasonable range.  Which just means your lasers max range.  Also, as has been stated, just as in offensive combat you need them to be seen by actives to be able to fire.  Passives (Therm and EM) play no other role than early warning/tracking of distant targets.

Thanks for the under standing.  Also if you want and are able to make it to Rajilion Melinda can give you some crossbow archers for your travels.

Finally did a census of my troops and found that over 60% are ranged, and split between hunters and crossbowmen.

I run the Nuclens family, just hand the town over to Kevin and he'll give it back to the Norwinds.

Oh that's me.  I'l hand it back if you guys want...sorry about that
That would be nice yeah.  I would say take one of the other areas near by to the east but the area south of Pericolo is getting pretty active combat wise and I don't suggest you get messed up in it.

So just head west and join up with the rest out by the coast.  Better land over there anyway.

Anyone from here a Melbid McDwarf, who was previously a Urist McDwarf, that just took a territory from Pericolo?

On the sending food out, I'll need time to figure out how much if any can be spared after all this construction finishes.

Pericolo would gladly join in the Bay 12 alliance.  For the glory of the west!

I hope he is planning on running about another 60 or so more turns.  So some of my smaller (read: all) settlements can finish up these random buildings.

I highly doubt Pericolo county is attacking anyone seeing as I'm the leader of Pericolo.

Edit: Zangi if you want to sign up with us you can, no requirements other than mutual defense.  Your other choices are with Brotato the east, or the politically ignorant Vonnegut to your north.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Vonneguts hadn't approached you with like 8 requests to swear to them.  I know they have with me.
