"Yeah. I appreciate the help in looking after her. Misaki is tough, but I don't think she really realizes just how dangerous this is. Honestly, she mostly seems mad that I kept it from her. I figured she'd be safer if she didn't know, since she'd. . . well, want to do this."
"If you ever needed to talk about, er, stuff about her, I wouldn't mind. I appreciate someone knowing how I feel already."The way you're talking about this makes it sound like you've dealt with this before."
"I know. I'm not dumb enough to think I could actually stop her at this point. I'll just have to work twice as hard from here forward." She nodded to herself. "If it had to be someone other than my bosses, I guess it's best it was Fire Soul that picked her up." Despite her own consternation, it was tough to miss how Haruka was talking. Miyuki looked at her questioningly, not wanting to press the issue, but not wanting to ignore it either.
"She's right. I was trying to keep all this hidden from her so she could live her normal life, but all that effort's been ripped away from me overnight. If she got hurt doing Mirager work, I don't know if I could forgive myself."
"Of course I do!" she burst out, with more vehemence than intended. She cleared her throat, looking a bit chagrined, before crossing her arms and continuing. "This is dangerous. Really dangerous. I don't know if I can keep her safe now. It was one thing when there was just a risk of her being caught in an attack, but now she'll actively be seeking Amanojaku out. It was bad enough when I only had to worry about some goon in an alleyway pulling a knife on her when she didn't expect it. . ."
"Hi, Briar. We just finished talking about what happened at the concert. . ." She trailed off with a sigh. "Misaki decided what I was expecting."
". . . I think I'm also going to get some air." It was getting harder to ignore Misaki talking about her future with the agency, and that issue was far from dealt with in the older Mukawa's head. She stood up and headed into the hall after Araki left.
"Maybe I can get you two to talk to my managers. I'm not very good at designing outfits, but getting some. . . less threatening color combinations in them might be nice." She tilts her head at Seitaro's confusion. "You've got a pretty standout personality and fashion sense already, so I don't think you need to worry that much. And I don't think anyone was accusing you of crossdressing. . .?"
"Wait, if Moralltach and Beagalltach are connected like that, why didn't Moralltach respond to me before?"
