The blue creature hurled itself in the direction it had come, attempting to moderate itself so it did not fall again. Then, it turned toward the brighter peak, and began moving toward it in a series of smaller leaps, so that there would not be another painful, rock-filled landing. Maybe.

Noriko's weapons rose in formation ahead of her, forming into the spears she was most familiar with. They did not, however, strike just yet. ". . . did you do all this?" Her stomach churned at the sight of the corpses, and tried to do backflips at the thought of just offing some dude in cold blood. This was just, a man. Probably a terrible person, but she wasn't a killer. "Why?"

"That one decided to touch the child unexpectedly," Mireille said, "and the child escalated by pulling a gun and waving her increasingly oversized ego about." She made another small "hmph" before making an addition under her breath. "'Dragon Princess,' my word..."

Joining Gustave in his pacing, albeit with her own space and a more frenetic pace, is Mireille. It took her about five minutes from their arrival for her to start, and five more to accelerate to her current speed, which she seemed ready to maintain indefinitely - until her focus snapped to the door as it boomed open. For a brief, hopeful moment, she thought the hellish wait was over, only for that hope to congeal into irritation when a literal child walked through the door. She stopped dead in her tracks, watching the newcomer with an incredulous expression, until she sat down. There was another moment before she made her comment. "Who is this lost, sassy child?"

Madoka nodded quietly. She wasn't sure how all these things were connected, exactly, but that much she followed, at least.

The girl nodded. "Alright. I'll probably go try to talk to him, then?" She shifted as if to leave, then paused. "Unless you needed anything. I wouldn't mind helping out."

Still seems like a pretty odd concept. The warship should, in theory, still be useful in lieu of the Vestal, particularly since Vestals seem to be somewhat controversial as combatants. That's where the rest of the questions come in; a government wouldn't waste extremely valuable budget and manpower making a capital ship less useful on a crapshoot that half of them don't want to even attempt. Extending this, it makes less sense for them to construct fleet strategy around such a refit.

Also, you can't generally just shave off armaments for protection past the design phase. Adding armor to ships is hard and usually not worth the expense over just making a new, better ship. IMO you'd be better served by just, playing a normal-ass dreadnought.
